Not surprisingly, because it consists of the larger skeletal parts of your body, the organs and the head. The lower part that is from where your legs join your hips to your feet is lighter in comparison. However, this is the part that has to carry the heavier part of your body.
So how is it even possible for the lighter part of your body to manage to carry the heavier part of your body effectively, by good posture? How can you boost your wellbeing, even when more weight is added to the already heavy part of your body?
That is what makes the human body amazing!

How Good Posture Can Really Boost Your Wellbeing! Part 2 of 8
A second way of freeing your abdomen (or belly), so you can breathe more effectively, in order to maintain a good posture, is to wear something that fits loosely, above your stomach and around the floating ribs.
Floating ribs are the bottom last two pairs of ribs, out of the 24 ribs men and women have. They are only attached to your spine, and not to the ribcage - That is why they have that name.
A third way - Is to wear something that is one piece and hangs loosely over, without any waistline.
The part of the body that fills up with air besides the lungs in breathing, is the diaphragm. (More about that another time).
As you are aware, the top part of your body (the trunk), is heavier than the bottom part. Not surprisingly...

Take 60 seconds to observe today, how your posture is and how other people around you are sitting.
Do a FUN checklist of the postures of 20 adults not related to you (10 males and 10 females)...Today..Thursday and Saturday. Then compare the results with friends or family.

OK, how are you sitting, as you read this right now?
Are you sitting with things in your trousers? It is always best to take them out. Take a moment too, to loosen any buttons and belts that are tight around you waist. Does that feel better?
Alternatively, you can pull your trousers or skirt down a bit, to below your stomach area....and Stop! You will feel immediate relief and release of pressure there, as your abdomen gets more space. Breathe.
Now, look around you. How are other people around you sitting?
