⚡️ Mareeba that was incredible ⚡️
In a night where we started our 2024 journey in the Anzac Day Round raising money for the Mareeba RSL Sub branch. A thank you to the Mareeba Rodeo Association for hosting the Anzac Day Round of the 2024 Great Northern Bullriding Series.
In a very tough night of bull riding it was Townsville cowboy and the current Australian Bullriding Champion, Braydon Wellby that came out on top and took home the win in the Open Bullride. Jake Simpson got to the whistle and won the novice section, whilst in the Junior Bullriding competition it was Grant Martin that won the event. In the mini bull riding 11-14 age group it was the little champion Levi Murray that took the cash and finally, the little pocket rocket Travis Shaw that took the win in the 8-11Mini Bullriding Competition.
A huge thank you to our series Bull Contractors, Mouse, Steph and sons for supplying quality bucking stock. Thank you to our Chute Boss, Kyle Milgate for once again keeping the show rolling along and the cowboys focused.
To the Bull Fighters, thank you Blayne Johnson and Nathan Brown for their commitment and dedication, and most of all thank you for putting their bodies on the line to keep our Cowboys safe.
Thank you to the Great Northern Bullriding team once again for their hard work and
ensuring the event was a huge success.
To our amazing Series partners in 2024, we thank the Great Northern Brewing Company, NQ Agricultural Services, Kenfrost Homes, Clarke Diesel and Tuff Tyres for their continued support. To our series Vet Tropical Vets, thank you for ensuring our stock are at their best at all times – to Meg the resident Vet who attended Mareeba thank you for caring for our animals.
A big thank you to our massive crowd for coming out to support our service men and women past and present.
Finally, we want to thank our Bull Riders for the miles travelled and the lengths they all go to whilst chasing the ultimate dream.
The series now roles onto Gordonvale on Saturday night the 3rd August.
