Singer-songwriter Eileen Rothe is returning to Creekside Theatre Nov. 4th for an indie music reunion with long-time friend Ryan Donn and will be one of his special guests. She’ll be performing songs from her “Dream Girl” EP (Hipposonic Studios) as well as some newer ones. Eileen is a captivating performer with a powerful voice and a style that’s been graciously compared to the likes of Kate Bush and Tori Amos. After several years away from the spotlight, Eileen is excited to be back on stage and is currently enjoying her foray into the theatrical world with a lead role in Fraser Valley Musical Theatre’s rendition of “Puss in Boots” at the Surrey Arts Centre later this month (10 nights).

Recorded a video for "Get up and Go" as the 5k colour run in Kelowna a few years ago. While the show won't have drums and bass I'm trying to work on a way to include this tune on my show on Nov 4th. Tickets on sale today: www.creeksidetheatre.com Creekside Theatre

Come on down this morning to the Ramada Hotel 6-9am for Maxine DeHart’s United Way Drive Thru breakfast.
Well my second last week of city council meetings is now wrapped up. One more week to go. I think the favourite thing we achieved this term was locking in the park development charge so now every new unit of housing contributes over $7k towards our new park development. We were over $100 million behind when we assessed our park development plan and only contributing $1 million /year. Now we are going to be spending approximately $10million per year forever. One more week of meetings to go.
Quick video summary from my morning watching the Kelowna integrated court in action. This was also referred to as the community court that city council was advocating for this term. Amazing to see the support by IH, John Howard, Crown Council, and many others. A few key takeaway’s. Crime is still punished as a deterrent but … Addiction is seen as something that needs support and the support system is in place (although very stretched). At the end of the day housing is still a massive issue whether it be from those transitioning from OCC or those with PWD income of $375 a month for their accommodation (so they are forced to choose the street). Although our society is imperfect adding this service or option to our crown system is a good step forward.
