Our story

Master Jerk grew up loving beef jerky. What corn-fed Midwestern kid hasn't? It was a rite of passage in his family. So much so that his mother bought a dehydrator so they could make their own. Sadly, his mother didn't make it nearly as often as they would have liked, and with moving around as much as they did, the dehydrator was forgotten in a box. Decades later, Mrs. Jerk and daughters moved the family to the East Coast, away from the jerky Master Jerk grew up on. But the "hunger" remained, gnawing at his subconscious. Sure, he would buy a bag of the mass producers, but it just wasn't... satisfying. It lacked the heartiness and flavor that he grew up on. And the "hunger" would merely be taunted, 3oz and $5 later.

A few years ago, Master Jerk’s mother, knowing his love for jerky and cooking, gave Master Jerk the very same dehydrator that had been stored away all those years ago. Taking one of his favorite dishes, that Mrs. Jerk cooks, he made jerky of his own. The first batch didn't make it through the night; not because of his "hunger," but that of Mrs. Jerk and daughters. He made a second batch, but saved some to take to work. Like any good office mate, Master Jerk shared; and they loved it. So much so that he had his first order that day. At that moment, Imperial Jerky was born.

Imperial Jerky is a true family effort, the combination of knowledge, Mrs. Jerk’s flavor profiles and their daughter's appetites makes this craft jerky all of our own!
