Marion's Still Smiling
Marion, myself and the rest of the family feel greatly rewarded from such breaks and have many happy memories.
In partnership with NHS Ayrshire & Arran our purpose is raise funds by various methods to give terminally ill cancer patients the opportunity to go on short holidays/mini breaks - this is being done in conjunction with Crosshouse and Ayr Hospitals. Sometimes laughter can bring a better feel good factor better than medicine. We were so very fortunate that we were able to fund our breaks away, but m
Memorial Bowling Day.
On 28th July, The family and North West Bowling Club will be having a memorial day, in memory of my dad, who passed away in May 2023. During this day i will be raising money for the Ayrshire charity Marion’s Still Smiling. A charity that is very close to our families heart and one that my dad was able to benefit from ro make memories just days before he passed.
I want to support the extraordinary work they do for sick children, adults and their families. Marion's Still Smiling raises money to send terminally ill patients away on short breaks with their families which helps them to make lasting memories, they also work with the Glasgow Children’s Hospital as every child in Scotland with cancer is treated there.
To boost the fundraising efforts, there will be a raffle with all proceeds going to the charity, and I'd be incredibly grateful if anyone would be able to donate a prize. Any contribution is hugely appreciated.
Monique & Family xx

I’d like you to meet Ketanthi who is 5yrs old, she’s just completed her treatment fighting medullablastoma brain tumour which was diagnosed in Sept 2022.
Her wish was to stay in a fancy hotel and feel like a Princess. The Waldorf Astoria in Edinburgh proved to be the perfect castle for our little Princess Ketanthi and her grateful mum. Just look at her wee happy face # # #
This is what makes all our hard work so worthwhile. Not every family like to share their story so we are grateful when we get some photos and a personal thank you from a mum.
Just look at Lucas’s wee happy, smiling face.
‘We’ve just come back from a short break in Blackpool which was kindly funded by Marion’s Still Smiling.
My son Lucas is 8yrs old and just before his 8th birthday he was diagnosed with Leukaemia (ALL).
He is currently undergoing treatment and over the past year has been an inpatient in the Schiehallion Ward at the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow, he now attends day clinics and continues to show strength, determination and is fighting hard.
We can’t thank the charity and all their supporters for their kind, generous donations. Lucas has had the best weekend and it was so nice to see him smile and just have some good fun after the year he has had.
At last all sponsor money has been received for Its A Knockout and our total raised after everything paid is a whopping £9, 023.35.
Big thanks to INEOS O&P

Lovely to get feedback from families……it’s a small gesture but one that’s appreciated and beneficial to the family.
Hi this is just a message to thank the charity so much for sending my mum and dad (mr & mrs Kenny Marshall) to piper dam this weekend. It has meant the absolute world to them. Any fundraising we do in the future will be for your charity. Thank you so much from me and my family # # #
An afternoon of mixed emotions at the Glasgow Children’s Hospital as we handed over our £12,000 cheque for them to continue sending the wee cherubs on breaks with their families in 2023.
They are totally blown away by the continued support from MSS and assured us these breaks are invaluable to the patients and their family.
Sadly they informed us that 4 of the children lost their battle which reminds us how fragile they are.
Thank you to everyone who supports us cause we couldn’t do it without you.
We thought we had it hard during Covid but hearing today, what families endured brought both Kirstin and myself to tears.
So tonight give your own cherubs, no matter how old an extra wee kiss and cuddle.
The 2 frames are a thank you from the Schiehallion Oncology ward arts and craft class xx
