QUEENSLAND TO HONOUR 2017 D-GRADE WINTER SERIES INDOOR CRICKET CHAMPIONS WITH STATUE

Anastasia Palaszczuk has today announced plans to build a statue as a memorial to the historic championship win by Lilydale Chaffing Co in the 2017 D-Grade Winter Series Indoor Cricket Series in Toowoomba. The move comes as public support for the widely revered team, which reached an unprecedented height during the 2017 campaign, has once again attracted the spotlight despite the mediocrity of their achievements.
‘This Queensland Labor government is all about celebrating mediocrity’ the Premier said at a press conference announcing the statue today. ‘ After all, look at what we’ve been able to achieve while in office’.
