*To***co companies know that perceived attractiveness (of the models) as well as perceived similarity (“like me”) increases an ad’s influence.

*Using fonts that are geometrically formatted and colors that pop out on the page will increase the product's visibility and fade the intention of the ad into the background.

*From eye catching color schemes to geometrical shapes, the to***co industry uses tricky marketing tactics in ads to grab young viewers' attention.

*Identifying these marketing tactics used by the to***co industry gives us the clues to understand how they try to get young people hooked on smoking to***co and addicted to ni****ne.

This is called self-medication, this is when someone uses substances to repeatedly and consistently deal with stress, anxiety, or other mental health issues.

This is momentum and empowerment against the To***co industry. Every event demonstrates the groundswell of support across the country to Take Down To***co. Here you can plan an activity to raise awareness of the problem of to***co use in your community, encourage youth to reject the to***co industry’s deceptive marketing and urge elected officials to take action to protect kids from to***co.

As part of our initiative we'd like to highlight that today is National toothbrush day. Every year the United States observes November 1st the day after Halloween, to reinforce the importance of children's oral health and promote good tooth-brushing habits.

Join us for the local Napa County wide 2023 RRW is a week that acknowledges "Be Kind to Your Mind. Live Drug Free. This year’s theme is a reminder that everyday Americans across the country make significant daily contributions to their communities by being the best they can be because they live Drug-Free. School sites will submit their photos via Google form, in this form a photo/media drop box will collect 1-2 photos or media per school. This form will collect data of participation. Winners will receive a prize for students who participated. A wellness backpack filled with mindfulness items. Please submit nominations by November 1st via Nomination form

Requirements for the Photo Contest are as follows:

*Pick a theme provided as it lists, we are looking for the most creative, best use of the school community, best use of theme, most ambitious, most educational.

*Decorate your school, a wellness center, a door, a window, the quad, the front office, or a visible location amongst peers.

*Must have the double looped red ribbon with these years “Be kind to your mind” theme

*Must snap a photo with people in it.

Submit nomination form by no later than November 1, 2023
