Cardio day was supposed to be yesterday. But I had to do bis and tris yesterday because I had to take Friday off thanks to Morgan Minor needing to go to Peterborough Station for 7am and work wiping me out.
So cardio was today. I'm melting.
Amazing how far I walk talking to mum on the phone.
The next four week cycle of this programme are the reason for the first four, as muscular endurance training gives way to muscular definition and time under tension. Therefore pre-workout fuel definitely required.

When your trainer says, "This is going to suck", just be proud you got through it. But also be proud of the progress you've made. Don't wait for the end to be proud of yourself.
When you're about to start your workout when this comes into your playlist, what else is there to do but start a few minutes late.

Post workout BP. The pulse is still up because I didn't finish that long ago. I call this progress when you consider it was 146/95 3 months ago.

Workout time. Can't decide workout buddies. Am I being unfaithful to Joel Freeman with Shaun T or is it the other way round?
When you forgot to hit record on the video, at least you've got some kind of proof you did the workout.
More progress!
Week one results.
Weight loss: 0 (I went to a party at the weekend so nobody's surprised by that one, especially if you've ever eaten one of Caliope Pie's cakes)
Inch loss: Half an inch each off chest, waist, hips, and each thigh, and a quarter of an inch of each bicep.
Works for me. Now, it's upper body day, which anybody who's done a Shaun T workout means a zip front sports bra and get in the shower quick while you can still use your arms. Can't wait! 😁

What would you expect a calorie burn in 20 minutes of yoga to be? Probably not this. The sweat is running off me and I'm still huffing and puffing 5 minutes later.

Cardio is best for weight loss, right?
Wrong.
Strength training will actually help you burn more calories long term. Three basic reasons.
1 - Working muscle uses more energy
2 - As muscle tones, it tears. Repairing those micro tears takes, you guessed it, energy
3 - Maintaining muscle tone requires more energy than fat
And what is energy? Calories.
If you wanted an illustration, these two images are from my tracker. On Friday (picture 1) I did cardio. Today (picture 2) I did a back and biceps workout. Not only is there a difference in the weight control zone, I did more aerobic exercise doing strength training than cardio.
Funny that.
Stayed up late finishing an assignment at the last minute again and now I'm running an hour behind. So, fasted cardio or breakfast followed by cardio within 15 minutes?
Decisions, decisions.
This morning's workout had me eating quite a lot of hair, because nobody does cardio like Shaun T!

Didn't want to work out this morning. My neck's really sore from yesterday's Pilates and the knee that I've had three operations on was making its presence felt. But I said I would do it so I figured I should at least try; I could always stop.
I didn't stop.
Today's was the perfect gentle exercise, with no strain on my neck and no impact or high intensity work. But still challenging. It was designed to go with a variation on the nutrition plan I follow, that concentrates on gut health and which helped me get rid of my caffeine addiction and reduce my moderate lactose intolerance to the point where I rarely have to think about it.
So I'm glad I did this one. Because I always feel better when I do.
Workout achieved this morning. Had to deal with people who swore black was white and wouldn't take it doesn't exist for an answer. Now chilling with crochet and Richard Osman's House of Games.
Oh, and yesterday's workout as well. Amazing what you can do in 25 minutes.

Be bright and cheerful. It's leg day!
Decided to blow off Bargain Hunt and go for a 15 minute walk instead. It was drizzly and breezy and not necessarily ideal walking weather. I shall definitely do this again tomorrow.
The judgemental failed to sync to its app for hours but I finally got the results of this morning's workout. Pretty good for zero impact low intensity cardio. Maybe not as low intensity as I thought.
