What are thread/spider veins? Thread veins are unsightly very small, abnormally dilated blood v
A really great day at the British Association of Sclerotherapy conference. Lovely to see familiar faces and make new connections and update my knowledge. A fabulous venue at Dorney Lake, Eton.
My very kind patient was happy to have some of her treatment filmed by her daughter and sent me the clip. I thought it might be useful to show you what happens! As you will see my patient is happy and chatty and the treatment clearly not at all uncomfortable for her.

As all my patients are aware there is no perfect treatment and it takes time for the outcome of sclerotherapy to work. Everyone is warned that their veins will look worse before they look better. Some veins will improve more quickly whilst other will continue to improve even up to 6 months after the procedure. In a recent presentation I gave at the Royal Society of medicine - Venous Forum I was asked to speak about 'Sclerotherapy my way' ....

Unsightly veins? Nows the best time to get treatment in time for spring/summer next year. It will take at least 2-3 months for the full extent of the result to be seen and to allow for 2 sessions if you need them. Call The Mcindoe Centre on 01342 330357 for an appointment. Thank you very much to so many of my loyal patients who have come to see me at my clinic at The McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead. I have been really busy since I retired from the Royal Free. This short video shows how effectively tiny thread veins can be treated. Its now a waiting game for the next couple of months to see the full outcome of sclerotherapy.

Good bye Royal Free, it's been a pleasure! I'm still nursing and I still do Sclerotherapy. Come and see me in beautiful East Grinstead, at the Mcindoe Centre. I'm there on a Tuesday, and it's cheaper!!
My last 2 London clinics with available sessions will be at the Royal Free 16th March and Hadley Wood 8th March. Please call 020 7317 7751 to make an appointment
After 31 years working at the Royal Free Hospital, I have made the hard decision to retire. I have decided that I have had enough of the the weekly 4 hour round trip and would like to work much closer to home. I will continue to have a Sclerotherapy Clinic at The McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead on a Tuesday. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause my London patients but I would be delighted to see you if you could follow me to beautiful West Sussex. This is a picture of me on the last day as a Royal Free Hospital student nurse, having started my training in 1987!!

Having trained and worked at the Royal Free Hospital for over 30 years I have made the hard decision to retire. It is time to work much closer to home. I will miss my colleagues enormously, but I really hope that my sclerotherapy patients will follow me to my Clinic at The McIndoe Centre in East Grinstead.
Another busy week, in clinic with my patients and on the panel of the British Association of Sclerotherapy's webinar. Here Phillip Colleridge-Smith was demonstrating foam and microsclerotherapy. Myself and other board members discussed the treatment for varicose and thread vein removal. Also, this week an article I have written has been published in the on line Hamilton Fraser Insurance website, as part of their on line knowledge Centre. Here I discuss managing patient expectations... take a look!

Since April 2020 I have had to close my Sclerotherapy clinics, but I haven't been twiddling my thumbs! During the first lockdown I was redeployed on the COVID wards at the Royal Free Hospital and during the second wave I became a vaccinator. Both of which I found extremely fulfilling. COVID times As with most people it has made me re-evaluate my work to life ratio and as I result I made the hard decision to shut my Woking clinic after over 20 years....
