Since moving to NYC more than 6 years ago with , our Manhattan “holi-date” is always one of my favorite nights of the year. And not because it’s the day we set aside to go see the Rockefeller tree… that portion of the evening is usually chaotic & quick due to the crowds and chilly December temperatures. (See: my red nose and these messy selfies. 😂) And it’s not the stop at The Campbell inside Grand Central for espresso martinis either, though I love that tradition as well.
No, the main event is always . I’ve actually never sat in any of their dining rooms because we always head straight to the bar, which is so festive and cozy this time of year. There’s this lone table in the corner that we somehow always manage to snag and then proceed to order a full steakhouse dinner while the bar fills up around us.
Our magical table has four chairs, and last night we offered to share it with others looking for a place to sit. We only had one set of takers— two cousins meeting up for a holiday drink, who we proceeded to trade New York stories with for over an hour. Another couple (dressed to the nines and married for 65 years) scored their own table in the dining room but sent over a round of drinks as a token of their appreciation. For 3 hours, we had a myriad of these little interactions that can only be described as uniquely New York (while feasting on prime rib, thick cut bacon, mashed potatoes & creamed spinach of course.)
And it’s every year on this night I fall in love with this city all over again. 🫶🏻
TL;DR: I ♥️ New York. :)
Hope your holidays are magical!
Whoever said a third wheel was a bad thing never rode an adult tricycle through the streets of Key West. 😂
By far my number 1 recommendation for people visiting Key West is to rent bikes (or trikes!) and just cruise. The island is tiny (4 miles long x 2 miles wide), so you can easily see the whole thing and there are tons of bike lanes. I still need to work on a recap video from our trip, but for now… here’s a few snaps from one of our outings courtesy of who still picks up a photo camera from time to time 😘
(Also… Big thanks to for lending us his place for a little remote work opportunity! )
Since I never get around to sending holiday cards, let’s pretend these are arriving in your mailboxes next month. 😂 Missing the fam this holiday season but thankful for our summer reunion (and these photos by to commemorate it!) Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving 🫶🏻
Swipe to slide 2 for a little Instagram vs. Reality moment. 😂 More reality: I rarely buy clothing anymore. Renting clothes is the best because I get to tailor my closet to whatever jobs, events or travel I have that month. Prime example: our recent trip to Jamaica came up very last minute, but I was able to quickly order a bunch of warm-weather outfits from before we left.
This would make a great gift this holiday season (including gifts to yourself!) and until 11/28, you can get 30% off your first month using code: RTRJAYMEE.
Ya mon! What a jam-packed 4 days eating and drinking our way through Kingston as guests of & ! I managed to leave my phone in car on the final day (🤦🏼♀️) so I still have more stories to share as well as a recap video, but for now here’s 10 frames from the lens of . 🫶🏻

Can you guess where is headed next based on these 10 photos? Fun fact: This country was the site of mine and Justin’s first big International trip together almost 6 years ago! Can’t wait to bring you all along 🥰

Just getting a head start on that winter bod. 😂
“What makes someone a New Yorker?” I remember posing this question a few months back and I became invested in the answers.
Some said 7 years, many claim it’s 10. Others say you get bonus years for staying through Covid. Some tied it to more to NYC rites of passage like crying on the subway or confidently being able to give someone directions without looking at your phone. For others still… “it’s just a feeling.”
The last photo in this carousel popped up on my phone yesterday, reminding me that this week marks 6 years since I moved to the city I’d dreamt about living in ever since I interviewed for a job at 15+ years ago. (I came in 2nd for that job but the city has pulled me this direction ever since.)
The truth is, some days I feel unequivocally that I am, indeed, a “New Yorker.” And there’s other days I feel extremely disconnected from the city I call home. But maybe that’s just it. Nothing about New York is easy, so why would your relationship with it be anything less than “it’s complicated.”
That said, I think I’ve got at least another year. 😉

What’s better than a slice of pizza???TWO slices of pizza of course. 😂 Happy to all who celebrate! Food holidays are kinda silly IMO but I also can’t pass up an opportunity to post about pizza so here we are.
As much as I love the plain cheese slice at , the “hotboi” with beef pepperoni, jalapeños and extra hot honey is worth the heartburn every time. ❤️🔥 Can’t wait to check out the new location!
My face after booking travel to New Orleans next month for ’s birthday!! (And please drop your NOLA recs in the comments ⬇️)
This will be my first trip back since we celebrated my friend at her bachelorette party back in 2018 so I thought I’d take a little trip down memory lane with some of my favorite bites from my last visit!
☕️ Beignets & coffee
🥪 Muffaletta
🍤 Shrimp & Grits
🍗 Fried chicken
🍳 Jazz brunch
🦀 Crab beignets
🧀 Cheese & wine
Some girls want to be showered with gifts for their birthday, but I just want to cook all day in the woods where showers are optional. 😂
August 25th is my actual birthday, but I’ve sorta been unofficially celebrating all week with a trip to the Catskills and dinner with my sister who was in town for a quick work trip. As I get older, birthdays feel less significant, but I’ll never pass up the opportunity to eat (and cook) delicious food with people I love. So on the eve of turning 43, I’m feeling gratitude and excitement for what the next trip around the sun will hold.
Thank you for all your support over the past year and for coming along for the ride in my little corner of the internet. 🫶🏻

You can take the girl out of Montana….
Quick story about this sweatshirt since some of you have asked. A few eagle eyes correctly recognized the logo from Harvest Moon Brewing in Belt, MT (near where my family farmed until I was 5.) As we were making arrangements for my dad & stepmom’s celebration of life in 2019, we drove out to Belt to meet with my dad’s close friend and banker. While there, we stopped into the brewery to order a small keg for the party, and of course the guy working there knew Dennis Sire. He told a story about how my dad locked his knees and passed out while they were groomsmen together during a very hot Montana wedding many (harvest) moons ago. So naturally, we all bought matching sweatshirts when it was time to return the keg.
I’ve been thinking a lot about loss and grief lately, as many of my friends are sadly going through the same thing with their own parents in recent months. As I tell everyone… grief isn’t linear and you never know how or when it will hit you. But I find it comforting to grab for this sweatshirt whenever I’m missing him and think about that story (and smile.) 🫶🏻🌾

My favorite place with my favorite person. 🫶🏻
Life has been a little crazy lately, so having the opportunity to totally unplug in with last week was precisely what we needed. Something about being outside in nature all day with the person you love and zero cell service is extremely rejuvenating even if we were dead tired at the end of each day.
I still have so much video to share from Glacier and being home with my family, but in the meantime, here are just 10 snapshots of our 3 days. If anyone is planning to still visit Glacier this summer or next, drop any questions in the comments and I’ll answer them there and try to incorporate into a video as well. (My DMs are so far behind, I’ll need a day to go through them when we return)

Have you ever had a Monte Cristo? Well, imagine if a grilled ham & cheese and French Toast had a delicious little sandwich baby and then you’ll understand the joy on my face in this photo. 😍
My version features two types of ham, Dijon & Gruyère on brioche bread that’s battered, fried, dusted with a tiny bit of powdered sugar and dipped in raspberry jam for the ultimate sweet & savory breakfast bite! [ad]
MONTE CRISTO SANDWICHES (makes 2)
6 slices of brioche bread
Dijon mustard
mayo
4 slices Jamon de Paris
4 slices Hot Honey Ham
4 ounces shredded gruyere cheese
2 eggs
1/4 cup milk
kosher salt
1-2 tablespoons butter
Powdered sugar & raspberry jam, for serving
1) Spread a thin layer of Dijon mustard over a slice of bread. Add 1 ounce of shredded cheese, and top with two slices of Jamon de Paris. Spread a thin layer of mayo on a second slice of brioche and place mayo-side down on top of the ham. Spread the other side of bread with Dijon and top with 2 slices of Hot Honey Ham and another ounce of shredded cheese. Spread a little mayo on a third slice and place mayo-side down on the cheese. Repeat with the remaining ingredients to make a second sandwich.
2) Beat together eggs and milk in a shallow dish and season with kosher salt. Dip each side of each sandwich in the custard mixture and allow to sit for 30-60 seconds or so on each side.
3) Melt butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Place sandwich in skillet and compress slightly. Fry sandwiches slowly to allow custard to cook through and form a golden brown crust (similar to French Toast.) Cut into quarters and dust with powdered sugar. Serve with jam for dipping.
Is it just me or did June disappear faster than my curls on a humid day? (Swipe to the end to see what I mean😂) Here are some of my favorite unpublished bites from the past month in no particular order… which would you go for first?

✨J&J date night, photo edition ✨Justin and I are constantly saying that we need to take advantage of our awesome neighborhood more often, so when our friends at the invited us in to preview the 4th of July menu, it was a no-brainer! Walking distance from the apartment plus city views and delicious food is my kinda date night. 😎
BTW… if you’re in NYC for the 4th, they are throwing a little bash with open bar, food, music and one of the best views of the fireworks around. On the menu: Japanese fried chicken, merguez hot dogs, a slider version of their au poivre burger, falafel and much more, plus frozen drinks, beer & wine, all from the same chefs as Le Crocodile & Chez Ma Tante! (Link to book on in my stories.) What is everyone else doing for the holiday?

My reaction at the thought of us (finally!) returning to Montana this summer 😄 (Please drop your Glacier recs below!)
I’m so excited for our mini family reunion to celebrate my mom’s 70th and siiiiister’s 40th! (Sadly, we haven’t been back to MT since my dad’s celebration in 2019. 🫶🏻)
Justin and I are extending our trip and also spending a few days in since our last visit was there was back in 2018. I don’t generally recommend trying to plan a last minute Glacier trip in the middle of the summer, but I am determined to make it happen. I know I asked in stories a couple weeks ago, but figured it would be nice for everyone to see the responses in a post they can save, soooo….
Drop any recommendations in the comments for your favorite Glacier Park hikes, lodging, food, and surrounding areas below if you have them. I’ll also be detailing our trip after the fact, so let me know what you’d like to see in terms of content to help with your own planning!
Presenting … baby shower edition. 😂 (also… in case you haven’t heard, my girl IS HAVING A BABY!!!)
P.S. Big shout out to for making absolutely delicious GF, DF, egg-free, apple-free muffins for the mama-to-be and her long list of food allergies.
Missing this guy extra today. Happy to . 🧡
The many faces of Jaymee… which is your fave? 😂 And oh yeah… I’m on TOMORROW at 9pm on ! So excited to co-host this episode with , who is a wealth of food knowledge and one of the kindest humans. Let’s get our friend BEAT!!
(And yes, I know the draft is tomorrow, and yes my episode last year randomly aired on draft day as well. But we all know that first round takes all night, and BBF is only 30 minutes sooooo you know what to do friends. 🙏🏻)
Who needs Coachella when “Rheupchella” was serving up mini corn dogs, glow sticks and vibezzzzz. Congrats to & on pulling off an epic wedding weekend that was absolutely bursting with love (and disco balls.) 🪩

Hey everyone… this is probably an extreme long shot as our podcast is pretty firmly in second place to a show whose host literally has millions of followers. BUT…. If everyone who follows me here voted for us, I think we could do it! So PLEASE… if you haven’t voted already, please take a couple of seconds to do so… it would mean so much!
Dear Mays… We used to joke that you’d live to be 25 just to mess with us. Instead, you silently fought a growing tumor and waited until I was on the other side of the country before letting us know you were sick. Sort of an unnecessarily dramatic move, but that was sort of your style.
Like how you crawled all over me the minute I took you out of your carrier at an adoption event in San Francisco and left me no choice but to take you home. Or how you gave us all a good scare when you escaped to my apartment roof after a night out at Lions Pub.
Or how about when you busted out of your carrier on our cross country flight moving to Connecticut? 🤦🏼♀️ I still remember that drunken look on your face as I collected you from the nice (allergic) man’s lap 6 rows up.
Or the way you would turn on the charm the second you smelled me cooking anything in the kitchen and wait for the perfect moment to stab food off our plates.
Speaking of food, you would scratch and howl at the bedroom door at exactly 8am each morning demanding your favorite wet food. And you insisted on sleeping in a ratty cardboard box instead of the fancy cat bed Justin ordered off an IG ad.
You were aggressive with everything you did, even your cuddles, and we loved that about you. Your tail never stopped moving unless you were fast asleep. You always seemed to know when I was upset and needed a Mays head butt or purr session (like this morning when you crawled into bed and snuggled for a whole hour as if you could sense it was the last time.)
For 12 years, you’ve been with me through breakups, job changes, moves, losses & love. And when you instantly gave Justin the stamp of approval 6+ years ago, I knew I had a keeper. You are leaving a giant hole in our hearts and we will never be the same. Love you buddy. 💔

I can’t even be mad at the photo bomb because she really nailed that smize. 😂
Guess what? (the podcast i host for Food Network) is nominated for The Webby Awards! If you could vote for us, I would so so appreciate it!!
Vote for the best of the internet I just voted in The Webby People's Voice Awards and checked my voter registration.
Happy Opening Day! ⚾️ It’s been a few years since I trotted out these old pics but I feel like it’s allowed since the open the season at Yankee Stadium this year! 😂 Wish I was going but and I will be cheering them on from my couch this afternoon. Who’s your team?
📷:
Cheesin’ because I just put the finishing touches on the [yet to be named] Game Day snack bracket. 🙌🏻 Swipe to see the seeding and comment with which “team” you have winning it all!
Also… If you have any grievances, take it up with the committee… AKA all of you! 😂 Thanks for all of the votes so far and head to my stories for the first half of the “Savory Sixteen” voting with the other half coming tomorrow and some recipes from some of the contenders over the weekend.

It’s been 25 years since I officially became a Coug, and I still get just as giddy to take a photo with . 😂
Somewhere between Super Bowl and becoming Mays’ personal chef, I actually reached a pretty special milestone this month. I hosted my 9th and 10th “Night with Cougar Athletics” fundraisers in Spokane and Tri-Cities. They have so many talented alums they could choose from, so I’m incredibly humbled and honored every time I get the call.
Thanks to & for the hospitality as always, and to my new co-hosts & who will definitely be taking my job someday. 😉
