Welcome to the 2020-2021 School year!
The PTSA would like to extend a very warm welcome to all new and returning families to the South Bay/Pine Hill community. Due to the current pandemic safety measures, this year will certainly look very different. Part of that includes the PTSA being unable to hold our normal events and activities. Aside from holding a few virtual meetings (dates TBD), we do not know when, how or to what extent our involvement will include this year. We really hope as the year progresses to see that improve.

We here at Pine Hill/South Bay PTSA would like to take this moment to offer our most heartfelt gratitude and a huge THANK YOU to the teachers, staff and administrators across our district. The 2019-2020 school year was filled with fun (from pumpkin patch field trips to a fabulous winter concert, our first movie night and updated playground paint) to the unexpected (with blackouts and, well, everything Covid-19). In between, there was learning - not just math and reading, but the growth that comes from new ideas and new friends. Throughout the myriad changes of this year, you were there as a constant source of encouragement and stability when it was needed most. You provided the lessons and the wonderfully chaotic Zoom meetings. You were there with food so that our kids could continue to learn with one less uncertainty. You were there with music and art to break up the monotony of sheltering at home. And you were there for us parents and caregivers, giving us the tools we need to help our children succeed. We can never know the work put in behind the scenes, but we can offer our most sincere appreciation and gratitude that you are here in your chosen profession when our community needs caring educators the most. We live in a constantly changing world, but it is comforting to know that your dedication to our children is never in doubt. We've missed you this spring, hope you enjoy a well-deserved summer break, and look forward to seeing our Panda and Shark family in the fall. Thank you!

We hope you all had a safe Spring Break in the safety of your homes with your families. To kick off the end of Spring Break, South Bay and Pine Hill Schools will be hosting a Virtual Spirit Week. Every day we will have a new post where you can participate by uploading an image of your spirit on our page. Building community and staying connected is important during these times, and we miss all of your faces so much. Can’t wait to see all the virtual spirit! Sending virtual hugs!

Keep an eye out T-shirt’s will be mailed out to all students that raised over $30 for the FunRun! The movie tickets and treat winners are South Bays Hunter Olson & Pine Hills Ellie Couch.Those will be sent out with theirs shirts. Thank you all so much for your support. This is a fun idea.

Breakfast and lunch is being served at Pine Hill & South Bay to all children under 18 years of age from 8-11 am. We’re ready for you!

McTeacher Night is from 4-7 tonight at McDonald's by the mall. All profits made will go toward a new kindergarten playground at Pine Hill.

Don’t forget fun run pledges are due Thursday, March 5.

Please join us tomorrow (Thursday, February 13th) at Applebee's. A portion of sales from 5 - 9 pm will be donated to our school for the 8th-grade trip to San Francisco! Once again, we really appreciate all the fundraising help!
