AAP student Ana Ramirez-Santos isn't a detective but she's helping solve a centuries-old mystery in one of Delaware's popular beach towns. Ana's research into a group of unmarked graves from the 19th century in South Bethany is helping tell the story of those who were buried there, along with the area's evolution from a rural agricultural community to the bustling tourist resort that it is today.
“You look at the area now, it’s just so sandy and there’s so many houses. It’s beautiful, but it’s so different from what it was," she said.
Ana's project is funded by the University of Delaware Community Engagement Summer Scholars program.
