"We met while working an event at Famularo Weddings and Banquets years ago. We were both really shy at first. Over a year later, Keith asked me out on a date and we made it official in October 2011. On 10.31.20, Keith proposed to me at Lake Scranton, with my dream Verragio ring from Murphy Jewelers. On October 14, 2023, we exchanged vows and rings, also purchased at Murphy Jewelers in Whitehall (Hearts On Fire and Benchmark wedding bands). We had our ceremony at the beautiful Masonic Temple at Scranton Cultural Center."

Show of hands 🙋♀️ Does anyone remember the beautiful mural in our bridal area? We hired renowned Pottsville artist David Naydock to paint a scene inspired by Claude Monet's “Bridge over a Pond of Water Lilies”.
Fun fact: the mural is still preserved, behind a wooden wall installed during a remodel, in case we ever want to unearth it in the future!

Did you know that we donate 100% of the proceeds from our watch battery repairs to a local charity?
Our “Time to Give” charitable program selects a local charity near & dear to our hearts for a certain time frame and 100% of the proceeds we collect from watch battery replacements during that time go directly to back into our community.
Recently, we were proud to present a check to the ‘We Got Your Back’ backpack program through Wesley Church, which aims to distribute 2,000 filled backpacks to elementary school-aged children in need throughout the Lehigh Valley. Not only do the children receive backpacks full of school supplies, but they also receive new socks, underwear, vision screenings, and haircuts on the day of the event to get them ready for school. This donation will help them prepare for the 2024-2025 school year! ✏️📚
So far, we've been proud to donate to numerous local charities with this initiative, including Make-A-Wish, Dustin's Adventureland, Olivet Boys & Girls Club, Hillside S.P.C.A., ARL of Berks County, The Sanctuary at Haafsville, & The Children's Developmental Program in Quakertown.

Our Story
Murphy Jewelers was founded all the way back in 1913, when Frank J. Murphy opened a store in downtown Pottsville, Pennsylvania and traveled door-to-door in a horse and buggy repairing school house clocks.
Today, over one hundred years later in Murphy Jewelers’ third and fourth generations of family ownership, we've grown to become one of Pennsylvania’s foremost jewelry retailers with three award winning store locations and world renowned designer offerings.
Frank, Patrick's grandfather, opened Murphy Jewelers as "Jewelry and Optometry," where he not only sold jewelry but also made and repaired eyeglasses. Frank was an optometrist, a graduate of the Philadelphia Optical College in 1913. It was actually commonplace back then for jewelers to also work as optometrists repairing frames for glasses.
Frank's son, Francis, was enlisted into the Air Force for World War II. Upon returning home he joined the family business to work alongside his father. With his vision, the business' sights were set solely and passionately on jewelry, thus steering away from optometry. He soon moved Murphy Jewelers to its current location on Market Street in Downtown Pottsville. Then, Francis' wife Winnie joined to assist her husband in the business since she loved selling jewelry to customers.
