Carboncoin towards a sustainable journey
On Tuesday 9 March 2021, the International University of Monaco opened its doors to Alejandro Nicoli and Anton Falco to present and exchange their start-up on Carboncoin following their respective masters at Imperial College London with students in Marketing and Communication through Dr. Jauffret their Professor of Communciation. Carboncoin is the first application that rewards you for recycling activity since 2020 in Monaco.
In October 2020, two friends Anton Falco and Alejandro Nicoli decided to create an environmental application called "Carboncoin" which is supported by the Monegasque government and the Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation. Carboncoin encourages young people and adults, governments and businesses to recycle their plastic bottles, old jeans... and turns their actions into a digital reward that will allow users to use their rewards in partner companies with this application such as ZARA, NIKE, STARBUCKS... Their audience target is therefore broad, as they reach young people but also businesses and governments.
These two CEOs and co-founders promote an application that has an action in communication. Indeed, the application encourages the scanning of the recycled product which thus allows to keep an ecosystem sustainable but also to be rewarded as a result of this investment. Let's take the example of a target of anyone: Sacha a young French woman of 19 years, who is a second year student in Marketing and Communication has little money. However, it is for the well-being of the environment but does not regularly practice tri-selective. Thanks to Carboncoin, it can allow the environment and ecosystem to be intact because the use of the application is simple, and as a result of its investment it is rewarded and can be enjoyed at ZARA or STARBUCKS without touching its pocket money.
Their invitation by Doctor Jauffret is not insignificant since their start-up follows an external communication. Indeed, Carboncoin is aimed at several audiences: their customers, social networks especially through Instagram and soon on Tik Tok but also political, economic and social environments such as governments here the Monegasque Government and companies such as partner companies like ZARA, STARBUCKS, NIKE ... In addition, they are open to any proposals for recruitment offers we can think for example of offers of recruitment for their promotion of the application therefore of a person with knowledge of advertising, who is creative, a manager of internal and external communication ...
During the exchange with the students some were very interested in their start-up. For example, one person wanted to promote their idea about Tik Tok in order to give them more visibility and help on their project through customer feedback, the girls who were in class were also very interested in their start-up and are also ready to embark on this adventure.
Carboncoin shows people that they can benefit from an ethically viable activity, and that there are no "small acts" when it comes to saving the planet. They motivate people to recycle more. What they hope is that everyone will play their part because it is our future as the future of the planet that is at stake, a plastic bottle, old pair of jeans or a cardboard box at a time.
To conclude, create an application that allows us to be satisfied with ourselves as a result of the intervention we bring to the environment and then be rewarded, motivates and makes you want to participate in the experience because it is not something that takes time and is annoying on the contrary it is entertaining. There is a kind of game of "breaker who earns his salary" by scanning the bottle or other recyclable objects and then being rewarded with our intervention. Encouraging people to recycle in this way is a great idea because it will also allow children who see their parents or older siblings to do this to realize it too very early the age barrier is not an obstacle.
To join the Carboncoin adventure and have a role in the environment you just have to go to the website : http://www.carboncoin.app.

MONACO CARBONCOIN -CARBONCOIN - CARBONCOIN -
" On Tuesday March 9, 2021, the International University of Monaco had the pleasure of welcoming Anton Falco and Alejandro Nicoli the founders and CEO of the company Carboncoin during one of the communication courses of Dr. Marie-Nathalie Jauffret. The students had the opportunity to ask their many questions to the two entrepreneurs about the launch of their business.
Carboncoin is an application that allows you to earn points and discounts in your favorite stores by recycling our waste. How does it work ?
By opening the application, it is possible for you to scan the QR code of the bin can before filling in the information on the material of the objects you are throwing away. And the more you recycle, the more points you earn. These points will then be accumulated so that you can then have free discounts on partner stores. The idea emerged in the minds of these young entrepreneurs at the end of their studies. Both had the wish to found something useful both for the consumer but also for the environment.
Their Business Model is built so that all the elements of the chain are met. Consumers have a unique and useful experience as well as a short-term point-of-purchase reward. For partner brands, an alliance with the application is also an opportunity to collect data on where, when and what consumers use the most. As well as a new way to access new customers who might not have consumed in their store without attractive discounts. Governments and university campuses have not paid or replaced anything because it suffices to attach the QR code directly to the existing infrastructures.
The application aims to develop by starting first in the Principality of Monaco before expanding to the surrounding area. You can support them and stay connected to their news on social media mainly Instagram and TikTok !
It was a real opportunity and a great exercise for the students it terms of communication, recruitment and motivation, everyone enjoyed this pleasant time and learnt from it. I think it was inspiring to have this possibility to question a young start-up especially for the students who want to create one or help an existing one to rise. Carboncoin is, without any hesitation, a great idea, an intense work and a significant experience.
