Salina Shares
We share our selves and our stuff with our community.

Salina Shares is a grassroots effort that was born out of "random acts of kindness" in October, 2012. The result of being out in our community is that we met new people and became aware of needs that we did not know of otherwise. We found that we are stronger together and by pooling our talents and resources, we could make a difference, one person at a time. We began sharing our belongings and fo
Thank you, Salina, for 10 YEARS!

On Wednesday, we provided a sit down homemade Thanksgiving meal to many of the people who we serve every day.
We could not have done this without over 40 people doing “what they can when they can.” Some purchased food, some prepped and cooked it, while others served it. We served just over 125 meals!
Special thanks to Debbie Brenneman who organized and facilitated all the details, Linda Sullivan for being her right hand woman, and Father Keith for allowing us to use the kitchen at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Church to cook the food (and who helped with everything from food prep to doing dishes!).
Thank you to Debbie B., Linda Sullivan, Rosemary Neaderhiser, Dan & Jaren Newman, Chuck & Lana Heaton, Jan Kolzow, Annette Ochs, Tina Hogan, Karen Scott, Glen & Sharon Pummel, Stephanie Geis, Mona Pool, Peggy Hulstine, Margie McGreevy, Jessica Rodriguez, Nancilee Jones, Carol Tripp, Jeanie Wahlgren, Kerry Lustick, Linda Wenger, Kathy Dipman, Kris Standley, Penny Thompson, Eva Costigan, Greg Plott, Becky Howey, Charlotte Liebelt, Sue Jordan and Sandy Hernandez for donating the food.
Many of those same people helped prepare and serve the meal as well.
Thank you to everyone who showed up in every way to make this meal happen so that we could bless so many. This picture was taken on Tuesday of those helping prep and cook.

Years ago we learned that socks are one of the most requested items among the homeless and marginally housed. We thought there should be a simple solution to help meet that need, so we began "Sock-it-to-Salina."
This year, we are changing our annual sock collection from Sock-it-to-Salina in November to Socktober in October. If your family, group, church or business would like to collect socks for us, let us know! You can respond in the comments, email us at [email protected] or call us at 785-452-2929.
We will drop off collection bins September 27-29 and pick them up November 1-3.
We need men's, women's and children's socks and will share what we are given with other agencies as well. Some of the places we have shared with in the past are Salina Rescue Mission, Salina Grace, Ashby House, Catholic Charities, DVACK, CKF, and the Food Bank.
Thank you in advance for helping us help our neighbors stay warm this winter!
Thank you to everyone who makes Laundry Love Salina possible! ❤️💙
We are at Missing Sock until 1pm (2013 S. Ohio) AND at Quick & Clean from 12pm-4pm (1515 W. Crawford). 💙❤️
Laundry Love Salina is Saturday and we are almost out of pods. Dillons has some on digital coupon this week for $3.99, but we can use any kind. If you can purchase any for us, that would be great! Thank you for your continued support! ❤️💙
This is the 3rd week of the month. That means we will be at Speedy Wash on Tuesday from 5-9 p.m. and nurses from Salina Family Healthcare will be at Salina Shares on Thursday from 1:30-3:30. If you have questions about your health, their Purple Card or just want to have your vitals taken, stop by our office at 155 S. 5th during that time and they will be happy to help you!
Thank you to all of you who helped provide furniture and supplies for the KWU international students. Everyone has beds and they are getting settled into their new environment. Special thanks to Tom Hawks and the crew at New Community Christian Church's garage sale who blessed them far above and beyond what we had purchased for them. We appreciate everyone's generosity!

July is in the books! ✔️✔️✔️
Thank you to everyone who makes Laundry Love possible!
33 families went home with clean laundry on Tuesday night. We are excited to serve even more people this Saturday (July 22). Tell a friend or neighbor, and we'll see you at Laundry Love! 💙❤️
Thank you to The Ark Church Serve Day team who came yesterday and cleared the back of our building and painted over the graffiti. It was hard work on a hot morning and we appreciate it! Thanks too to a second team who made 100 snack sacks for us. We are happily grateful!
We’re happy to be able to offer our neighbors fresh fruit and vegetables! Thank you to Ted & Vera Zerger for sharing the abundance from their garden this morning!
“Play in the Park” was a God-whispered idea for Pacific Park in 2013 as a way to start cultivating relationships in a neighborhood we had a heart for.
We would canvas the area with 200 invitations tied to solar lights for each Play in the Park we have done. We figured we would leave a little light in every neighborhood we visited!
Today we gave away 200 solar lights to all those who attended! Thank you to Salina Charities League for helping purchase the solar lights.
We continued there for many summers and Christmases and did the same thing in other neighborhood parks each summer since.
So we were especially excited to go back today and join James Curtis as he prepared to honor his father’s and grandfather’s heart for the same area and begin to breathe life back into that little neighborhood park.
We will continue to come alongside to help in whatever ways we can. Special thanks to Steve, Margie, Kathy, Doug, Gilda, Carol and Jeanie for being there to help do our part today!
We are headed to Pacific Park this morning to join our Play in the Park with James Curtis’ DADDY BUD DAY - A North End Community Block Party !
We have goodie bags and games for the kids, and a solar light for each adult attendee. Come join us for some fun from 10am-noon.💙
Thank you to everyone who sponsored and volunteered to make this year’s 7th Street Block Party possible! Together we can do so much more!
Thank you to Linda S., Nancilee, Mona, Greg, Jackie, Kinsley and Steve for making cookies or helping assemble food bags.
Thank you to Andrea, Gilda, Kathy, Dave & Edyle and Steve for being there to help. Appreciate you so much!
Half way through our 10th year of Laundry Love Salina, we provided 17 hours of Laundry Love this week, serving 132 people!
Tuesday we provided 10 hours of Laundry Love at Speedy Wash and provided extras like lunch, dinner, games and gifts.
None of it would be possible without those who continue to faithfully volunteer and give financially to sustain us. Special thanks to Mike and Schuyler for going above and beyond at Speedy Wash to accommodate all our plans. We appreciate your support so much!
Thank you, Salina, for supporting this much needed service. We are happy to provide it and are truly grateful! ❤️💙
If you missed Laundry Love on Tuesday, you have a chance to come wash your clothes with us on Saturday (June 24th).
Trish Petak and her Business students at Kansas Wesleyan did it again! At the end of each semester, Dr. Petak offers her students extra credit if they bring in food for our food bags. (She even gives them a list of items we need!) Yesterday she delivered the most recent donations. We are always amazed at how much is given! Thank you so much for continuing to keep us in mind and help in such a practical way! We continue to be very impressed and very grateful!
We are at the EWL sale today until 2:00. They are located at 3115 Enterprise Dr. and are open until 4:00. Here are a few of the things we’ve found so far that we could use. They have made a selection of cookware 75% off for us.
Enterprise Wholesale & Liquidation
Thank you to the Emmanuel kids (and their adult helpers) who came to help us at our building on Wednesday as part of their Serve day. They brought lots of energy and completed 2 projects for us!
Ms. Margie & Friends are out serving the community in Jesus' name today!! Pray this group has a great day.
THIS Saturday, June 17th, is the next sale at Enterprise Wholesale & Liquidation (3115 Enterprise Drive, Salina).
Most items are 50-70% off retail prices, and select household items will be available to purchase for Salina Shares. We are so grateful!
We will be on-site from 11am-2pm with an info table, so stop by and say hello!
Another great Saturday full of laundry! We are so grateful for the continued support for this program.
💙❤️
