Kicking Off 2024 with a new remix!
I do enjoy making remixes and when I was ask to make one for Task Horizon remix album, I could not resist.
I ended up making two actually and we decided to go with this one.

New Music Byte: Task Horizon “Hyperion” (Rido Remix) 2023 marked the initiation of Task Horizon’s ‘Respawned’ Remix series on Evolution Chamber, featuring Audio, Burr Oak, Joe Ford & Phace.

This collaboration has been in making for years. I know Dephzac from times
when he used to have club in Nove Zamky in Slovakia.
He booked me for one of my first shows in Slovakia and we stayed friends ever since.

Both of us love the diversity that is unique to drum and bass and we wanted to explore that.

We met in my studio in Prague and Dephzac brought with him few ideas. We chose two, but as we started to work I felt strongly that we could really do something with one of the harmonies.
So I jumped on it and started to experiment with different beats. We agreed on going
with rolling beats. Broken beats is one of the elements that drawn us into this genre.

Mostly I tent to make all the drums from scretch, but this time we felt that the core should
be live break. So it took us some time to combine and chop few loops and process the out of them 😃.

After adding strings and horns for the intro, we had solid core for the track.

Then I got an idea of making a switch where we could bring punchy drums, but still with the rolling pattern. And that let to the idea of creating punchy edit for the switch.🥁

Last part of the process was to find a vocal that will give the track the message and identity.

The name Calling is inspired by our life journey and endless will to keep learning and make music.
