On 8 October 1970 Baba introduced the Bábá Nám Kevalam kiirtan mantra:
“The time has come to manifest the glory of kiirtana… those who wish to attain spiritual progress in their sádhaná will have to do more and more kiirtana. By kiirtana, the mind becomes pure, and with this pure mind, one can do sádhaná. If the mind is made pure even for five minutes by kiirtana, then if you do sádhaná for only five minutes, your sádhaná will be very good — you will surely attain spiritual progress. And because of your spiritual progress, you will come closer and closer to the Supreme Consciousness, you will come in contact with His psychic waves. And in that state you will be able to render still better service to human beings, animals and plants… May you all be blessed.”

Greetings !
On the 33rd anniversary of the founding of Ananda Marga Gurukula by Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji, it is my pleasure to report that we are launching a biannual academic journal title Neohumanist Review. This journal is now available in print form as well as online. This initiative provides an opportunity to all neohumanist scholars around the world to share their deep penetrating insights and diverse perspectives on subjects of common interest through a peer-reviewed process. It also strives to activate members of the Academic Council (Mahasamiti) of Ananda Marga Gurukula.
http://theneohumanist.com/browsing/issue1
Besides, we continue to build our global campus at Anandanagar (Cakradhuri) and a satellite NHCA campus (Neohumanist College of Asheville) at Marshall, North Carolina while also encouraging our higher education institutions at Singapore, Taiwan, Italia and Sweden. The NHE Teacher Preparation Program is in full swing and attracting students including several didis, dadas and margiis from around the world. This academic program is upgrading and strengthening our neohumanist movement.
We are also currently in the process of publishing two books on Ananda Nagar — one that captures the growth of Ananda Nagar from its inception and humble beginnings until today and another one that would portray the vast tasks that lie ahead of us as per the master plan envisioned by Revered Baba and revealed to us between 1987-1990. This is being done in coordination with all those persons who would like to see the unified and integrated development of AN as per the wishes of the Founder.
We have also begun the process to prepare a Teachers Resource Manual for Gurukula Learning and Innovation Centers, like the one established in the outskirts of Chitmu Village by Ananda Marga Gurukula under the personal guidance of Kulapati, Ananda Marga Gurukula.
On this auspicious day, i would like to recount Marga Guru's words uttered on September 29,1990 at Madhu Korak, Kolkata:
"If human beings think seriously, they can perform small and big tasks unitedly in a beautiful manner. Work can be accomplished in a short time and with very little effort, the welfare of a maximum number of persons can be effected. To work in such a united way, we have prepared a plan for the establishment of a gurukul for educational and research purposes. In this scheme, several responsible persons have been inducted.
In olden times, an educational institution enrolling about a hundred students was called a “Pathshбla”, that with 100-1000 students was called a “Catuspбthii”, and an institution of 1000-5000 students was called a “Mahб-catuspбthii”, Vidyapeetha or “Seat of learning”. Pupils of ancient Semitic and Middle Asia whose branches are the Ottoman Turks, Arabs and Jews used to call it “Academy”. Institutions with 5000-500,000 students were called Gurukul. The learned scholar of Vikramaditya’s court, Shri Amar Singh opined that a Gurukul should not enroll more than 500,000 students because it adversely affects the administrative efficiency.
In later times, when in ancient Greece, the system of Academies progressed, they were upgraded and during the Roman Empire, they were reconstituted as “Universities”. The Universities represented a grand educational scheme. During the tenure of the British Empire, the institution of universities were also initiated in India – particularly in Calcutta, Madras, Bombay, Lahore, Allahabad and Nagpur.
We have lost the tradition of over a thousand years. Is it proper to use the term “University”? It has been loosely translated in the vernacular as “Vishvavidalaya”. This is a misnomer. We already have a proper term for a university and it is “Gurukul”.
Anyway, we have made a beginning. From today itself, a Homeo-College, Electro-Homeo College and Ayurvedic College have been opened in Anandanagar. From tomorrow, a medical school is being opened for the training in different “pathies” A separate institution for girls is being opened at Uma Nivas. Certificate courses in NATAC (Naturopathy, Acupuncture and Chandsi) are also going to be offered soon. I hear that from 3rd October, 1990, a music college and fine arts college will be opened. A Textile Institute is also to be started soon in order to provide the textile-training for improving the self-reliance of the people. A branch of the same can also be opened for ladies.
I also hear that from 5th October, 1990, a Sanskrit Vidyapeeth will be opened. Sanskrit is the vehicle of cultural history of the entire India, Tibet and South East Asia. To go away from that culture means to lose a vital link and to destroy oneself. That is why, we cannot forget Sanskrit, we cannot ignore, neglect or disrespect it. To neglect Sanskrit means to disrespect our forefathers, our ancestors. It would be a crime which none should commit. That is why, we are opening a Sanskrit and Bangla Vidyapeeth. The Hindi language is under the burden of complexity of its grammar and is also at the threshold of sudden death. I have tried to save it in a different way. I earnestly hope that the new Hindi with a fresh lease of life will move forward. For this purpose, we have established “Hindi Bharati”. This Hindi Bharati will also publish new books in a novel style and create an intellectual stir in every mind in every nook and corner of India. Let humanity progress in every sphere of life. With this wish I have told you all this good news on this auspicious Vijay day. I also want that we should take other languages of this earth forward in a similar fashion. Probably, in the very near future, we shall also be able to do something for the progress of the Oriya language. While telling you all these good news on this auspicious day of Vijay, I also declare that Gurukul is not going to be established but rather it has already been established. May you all strengthen it and ensure its progress with collective efforts.
Everyone’s work is to establish it with collective support. You people know that when clothes are woven white ants and mice try to eat them. So the cloth has to be saved from the destructive activities of white ants and mice. So whenever you make something, establish a protective fence to protect it from the evil forces.
In days of old, when womenfolk used to prepare dried mango cakes, the young boys used to sit by the side to keep the crows away with a stick in the hand. Similarly you should be careful and alert always.
From this very auspicious moment, you should take a vow to progress individually and collectively and build a new society on the planet Earth. We have come to build a new society, to construct and to remain engaged in constructive works throughout our life. This would be the greatest mission of our life.”
Ananda Marga Gurukula has a historic role to play towards building a neohumanist society on this planet earth. Towards this end, we need to establish the master-units in every nook and corner of this world and establish educational programs under the umbrella of AMGK. We need to consolidate our financial and skilled human resources and together we can fulfill the following neohumanist vision:
A world of freedom, without fear;
and, there is harmony among all species;
where purchasing power of one and all is constantly increasing, and morality is the foundation of personal and social life;
science and technology is subservient to greater welfare,
and religion and spirituality affirm cosmic kinship & rationality; where creativity, imagination, aesthetics and fine arts blossom; and, universal love and divinity reigns!
And, where neohumanist education inculcates and nurtures “deeper understandings, revealing interconnectedness; intrinsic values; innovations; and benevolent leadership”.
I invite one and all to join us in establishing Gurukul on this planet earth for the good and happiness of one and all.
Amra gore nobo gurukula..
We will establish the Gurukula.
We will dye each and every bud with the light of knowledge.
No one will remain distant;
we shall sound every string of the lyre.
We will bind everybody with the thread of love
and create a garland of incomparable beauty.
No one will be left behind;
we shall push no one to the bottom.
All will exist with kith and kin,
with their minds full of sweetness and tenderness for all.
We will establish the Gurukula.
We will dye each and every bud with the light of knowledge.

On 6 September 1978 Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar introduced the physically, intellectually and spiritually beneficial exercise Kaośikii:
“I invented kaośikii on September 6, 1978. This dance is both an exercise and a medicine for twenty-two diseases. It is a sort of panacea for almost all female diseases, and for many male diseases in younger boys. It is a medicine for most liver diseases. It ensures safe deliveries for women, and also checks the advent of old age. It is a medicine.” (4 December 1978, Madras)
This compilation of Kaośikii being danced around the world is a celebration of that auspicious event.
Kaośikii: the Universal Dance of Mysticism Kaośikii is a unique exercise which is beneficial for the body, mind and spirit, especially for women. Among other things, it exercises all the limbs, loosen...
