The High Bar Gang had a wonderful show in Cranbrook last night at the Key City Theatre. Wild Honey opened. Rob Becker and I got to sit in. The magical community of Nelson tonight.

The High Bar Gang tour starts tonight with a rehearsal in front of an invited audience at the “one of kind” Dream Cafe in Penticton. See you out there!

It’s gonna be a busy and wonderful month of music. It kicked off with three sold out Bentall/Taylor/Ulrich shows on Vancouver Island. What a pleasure to play with these two talented musicians and friends. Next up… seven shows in BC with the High Bar Gang. More BTU shows and then I will head up to the Arctic Community of Kugluktuk with Dust and others to record a song and do a concert.

Wrapped up another season of the Cariboo Express! Thanks to everyone who played in and with this amazing band! Thanks to the hard working charities, the promoters, management and Paquin Agency. It was a great run and raised over $600,000. See ya all next year!

The tour starts Friday. Gonna debut this new strap made by Dust! It’ll be holding up this much loved and well used guitar made by my good friend and bass player Dave Reimer. Dust just rescued an old pair of Dene gloves I had that got chewed by our puppy at the time. He managed to cut out the beautiful beadwork and incorporate that art into this strap. Like Guy Clark said “stuff that works, stuff that holds up”. See you Friday in Calgary, Saturday in Sherwood Park and November 2nd in Toronto!

Coming back once more, to the spectacular Bella Concert Hall in Calgary in support of Classroom Champions. A great cause and a great place for the first night of the tour. See you there!

I think for all of us that play in this big ol’ bad ass band, it is a musical highlight of our year. With the help and hard work of some worthy charities, we’ve managed to raise over 5 million dollars over the years. Here are the dates. Come on out! Hi to all you wonderful people from St. John’s and surrounding communities. I’m coming to The Ship and in true maritime fashion, I will be arriving by ship! Heading out tomorrow for another stellar trip with Adventure Canada. Starting in Greenland, crossing the Davis Strait, down the spectacular coast of Labrador and eventually right into the St. John’s harbour! This photo was taken last year by the wonderful NFLD photographer, Dennis Minty. We were standing in front of the Franklin graves on Beechey Island on our way through the Northwest Passage.
