I got to spend part of today at the Capitol advocating with the Association today!

I was hype for the Carnivorous Plant Terrarium Class at for weeks and it totally didn't disappoint. ♡ Loved the Halloween theme, loved the plants, and loved learning about them all! I was stoked to get this bb sundew who was *flowering.* 😍🥹

Fingers crossed my terrarium keeps looking lovely and spooky for months to come, and I'll post updates if I can. :)

I haven't had the brain space to make jewelry in months, but yesterday I got to spend time outside around a campfire and forge with .mandrake and friends good food, and I was finally able to let the wire flow. ♡

and Tupelo Honey to celebrate some good news. Max found his new favorite plant, the hairy ball milkweed, and I got to oogle a lot leafy friends and bring home a rattlesnake plant from the gift shop. ♡

Things have been messy and weird lately, but fun moments like these make everything worth it.

Sad news- I've had some unfortunate changes in my life recently that have managed to take up all of my attention. It has led to a lot of sleepless nights and not a lot of time to focus on anything else. For my own health and sanity, I won't be vending at the Iowa Renaissance Festival in October as planned. Sorry everyone! I hope those who attend have a fantastic time, eat lots of tasty food, and get to see all the shiny things your hearts desire. ♡

Sometimes you just have to disappear from your desk job for a few hours midday to hide in the woods. Today was one of those days. ♡

A dozen bottle bbs, like the pendants in the first photo, will be headed to for her faire season which starts in a couple weeks! Stephanie from Fired Figments and I have been collaborating for a couple years now on these spell bottle pendants, and it's always a joy to work with each piece of her pottery.

Got to go tromping through the woods yesterday. Pictures: my first ghost pipes of the year (lil bbs), a funky white polypore I couldn't ID, boletes, boltetes everywhere, some old chantereles that will be my lunch today, pluteus sp, what is likely my last mayapple of the year, blue staining bolete, and another pluteus sp.

Went for a lovely walk in the rain today. Burdock, jelly fungus, self-heal, and what I *think* is a raccoon skull. It's always a good day in the woods when I leave with bones in my bag. 💚

Wire prep is something tedious and best done for me in bulk. It is also something I put off until the very last moment, and today happened to be that moment. The repeated cutting of the wire, lining up of the pieces, and beading of wire ends can be soothing after a while and it made for good handiwork while listening to the White Sands episode of today.

I spent part of the afternoon picking and pitting sour cherries from my neighbor's yard. ♡ Most of them are currently being turned into Cherry Bounce. 🍒

Thinking back to our magical hike into the high desert with the back in April. 🥰

Taking detailed notes on the custom ♾️ earrings so I can revisit them in the future. It's the first time I have taken a crack at the infinity symbol and been in love with the results, so I definitely plan on continuing to play with this design.

It's been a rough day, but getting to wind down at night in the studio doing contemplative exercises like this helps a lot. ♡

Out of all the new pieces I have for the , the Siren Star hairpin seems to have stirred up the most attention! It's easy to understand why- the bright green rays, the yellow citrine center, and the sheer magnitude of the piece command an audience. 💚
