Athens State University MACS Club

We hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas Break! Our dedicated staff will periodically be working over the break to help reduce any interruption to processes and service. Spring registration will remain open and the Spring Semester begins on January 8, 2024! If you need assistance with registration, please email [email protected]. The Math and Computer Science club is currently inactive for the 2023-2024 Academic Year. The officers that were serving have graduated or could not longer make the time commitment to best serve the organization, and other students did not volunteer for the leadership positions. To be an active club we must at least have the four main officer positions filled:

President

Vice President

Secretary

Treasurer

If you are interested in leading the club, please contact myself (Dr. Katia Maxwell) or Dr. Derek Newland. We do have to have all roles filled and students must be able to meet the duties of these positions for the club to be active. Otherwise we will remain inactive until we have students that want to be in these leadership roles and perform the duties associated to them.

The High Performance Computing group at the Alabama Supercomputing Center in Huntsville has an opening for an entry-level Linux system administrator. The position is a work from home optional position, when not working on hardware. Good opportunity as that group has some very nice toys to play with.
