Of particular note, there is live music and dancing both Friday and Saturday either here in Fredericton or in Saint John with the Saint John swing dancing group!

Location: Provincial Archives of NB (23 Dineen Dr)
Description: Swing member and local artist Ysabelle Vautour will be showcasing her swing dance themed art opening. This is a chance to support a member and artist by stopping by and having a dance.

The Gatsby Ball

Description: Celebrate the roaring (20)20s at The Gatsby Ball! Taking place in the lavish and historic Union Club, this evening of music and dance is sure to be a swell affair. Come for the intro 1920s Charleston dance lesson, stay for the dance floor and cash bar, and top off the night with a live blues set featuring Catherine Kennedy!

Uptown Beach Ball
Date: Sat Jun 1st, 8pm-11pm (by donation)
Location: Kent Theatre Saint John (24 Coburg st.)
Description: Join us for a night of swing dance, beginning with a free intro lesson- no partner or experience necessary- where you'll learn some basic moves and a sense of the swing style. The rest of the night will include an open dance floor, lots of swing music and even some special performances. Get ready for a beachy theme: time to break out the Hawaiian prints, summer dresses, and nautical attire! See you at the Beach Ball, where the sand and jazz are HOT!

Description: Join us for some open air Queen's Square Farmers Market Dancing! Dance below the Champlain statue with us, or bring a picnic blanket to enjoy market morsels while taking in swing dance music and entertainment. Description: This is a band we don't get to dance to often but they play a lot of rock, swing, blues rock and other tunes we can really jam to! Recommended if you're staying in Fredericton!

Location: Charlotte Street Art Centre (732 Charlotte)
Description: One of our favourite local dance bands at a location we're all familiar with. Proceeds are going towards Ukraine. A very good dance experience if you're staying in Fredericton!

MONEY MATTERS - Swinging to Spring weekend

- Paypal link has now been fixed!
- Early bird payments cutoff is Thursday May 9, 7 pm. Paypal will be taken down at that time.
- For payments on the spot, please bring cash! We are not equipped to process credit and debit payments.

Are you wondering how to dress and what to bring for a swing dancing weekend event? 🧐

- Dress however you like, just make sure you can dance the night away comfortably! Some may decide to dress up a little (time to dig out those vintage dresses, suspenders, or funky hats if you have any!), but there is no specific dress code.
- Feel free to bring a change of shirt to freshen up later in the evening and a small towel. 🥵
- A note on footwear: There will be concrete flooring at the Friday venue, please take care and choose appropriate footwear with more support. On Saturday, at the Fredericton Convention Center, we will have a proper dancefloor; indoor and clean footwear will be required!
- Hygiene and incidental kits will be available on both nights in the washrooms where you can find gum, breath mints, spray-on deodorant, wipes, earplugs, safety pins, etc. if you forget any of those items at home.
- There will be water stations at both venues, feel free to bring your own water bottles so that you can refill them.
