A place for all things natural health and wellness. Anybody will tell you that I am one of the BIGGEST momma bears you will ever meet. We don't drink it.
This momma bear came out in full force when cancer messed with my son. Unfortunately, I didn't have all the knowledge I now wish that I had known well before I ever became a momma. We fought my son's acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) for 3 1/2 years. ALL is one of the 'most curable' types of childhood cancer. He was diagnosed at 11, and relapsed on active treatment at the age of 14. He died on 3/
6/16, 2 days after his 15th birthday. We did everything the doctors told us we should do. Every treatment, he got, every pill, he took, every shot, he suffered through. Just when we were sailing toward the end of treatment, his relapse was diagnosed. Through the shock, we girded up for the hardest battle, and learned more in those 9 months than we had learned in the entire fight. We read labels now, and try to eat as much organic as possible. I feel that if you can begin to make change, it's better than staying where you are. The first thing to go was soda. I also threw out all of the chemical cleaning products in our home after I happened across Norwex products. I love that my under-the-sink cabinet doesn't have all of the toxic products any longer. While we were inpatient with my son, my interest in essential oils exploded. We no longer use any store-bought air-fresheners... I make my own sprays and diffuse my favorite oils.
