This Thursday, October 13th at 6:30 pm, the Hills at Vallco staff, Ice Center Enterprises and the PHA will be hosting a meeting inside the Vallco Mall (yes, you can still get in the mall) on the AMC Theatres side of the mall). Parking is available in the garage or adjacent to the dead Sears store.

The entrance is down an escalator adjacent to the AMC theatre entrance inside the mall. As you descend, you will see a glass wall with vegetation inside, simulating how the roof of the new complex will look.

There is a large meeting room behind that and a virtual reality tour (glasses) that will show how the entire complex works. In addition, there are full graphics layouts of how the mall will look when finished, including where the Ice Center will be moving to and its location next to AMC.

The mall is interested in letting future tenants know how this will all look and most importantly, how the new set up will operate, when it will most likely be open, and what will happen in the interim. This part is new as the decision has been made that if the ballot measure passes in November, they would like to start work on the center ASAP. They also want to start by demolishing the Penney's side of the mall.

They have agreed to build us a temporary facility in the Sear's lot adjacent to Steven's Creek. The temporary rink would be 200x85, NHL size and would be our home until such time as the new rink was completed. That's a win win for everyone. And I believe they would like to get a lot of positive feedback on this to justify that move.

Key item, yes they will be feeding you.
We need to get a head count of who will be attending so they can order the right amount of food.

This meeting is also important as they really only have our word and business records to show how much support the rink actually has. We would like to see around 100 to 110 players and family members there. If you live or work in Cupertino, even better.
Please forward this to your teammates and have them email me directly with their RSVP so I can forward a head count. I need a response no later than Wednesday at 5 pm if possible.
Thanks, your support would be much appreciated.

For the second time in three seasons, the Slashers are Pacific Hockey Association E Division Champions! The Slashers road to the Championship was a difficult one, defeating the Chosen Few in the semi-finals and the Polar Bears for the title with scores of 3-1 and 2-1 respectively.

Goals came from Michael Trojillo (00) assisted by Julian Low (27) and Ryan Henkensiefken (2) unassisted / short handed. League honors of Most Valuable Goalie AND Most Valuable Player were handed to goaltender James Crosby who shut the door against two very strong teams who relentlessly peppered shots his way.

The Slashers would like to thank all of our friends and family who support us day in and day out and allow us to play this amazing game. We recognize that late nights at the rink and smelly hockey gear draped all over the place are not exactly desirable and thank you for all of your patience and love.

A new chapter is set to begin in Slashers history. The Slashers will be graduating to D division next season and with it we will see a departure of some valued team members. We would like to thank Bill Gayon, Julian Low, and Kevin Jeung for their dedication and friendship during their time with the Slashers. We will always have a spot on the team for you guys. To fill the void, Steven Lewis will make a (triumphant?) return to the Pacific Hockey Association and Alex Sukhanov, Shaun Guth and Jeannie Duran will be making their debuts as rostered members of the Slashers. We welcome both of you to the team and look forward to many more Championships to come.

Slashers Win!

For the second straight game, the Slashers netted eight goals. Max Kassan and Steven Lewis led the way with three and two goals respectively and Amy Miyakusu, Afshin Babveyh, and Michael Trojillo each tallied one as well. James Crosby captured his first shutout of the season with help from the defensive corp who also contributed four points on the night.

The Slashers debuted new jerseys from Lutch USA which seemed to be well received. James Crosby (G) was one of two players to opt for the fight strap addition to the jersey and made sure to not let them go to waste by stepping in to break up a bit of a scrum (pun intended) when Jim Feliz took exception to Daniel Miller for reasons still unknown. James was given a "Third Man In" penalty and ejected from the game (and yes... he still picked up the shutout even without finishing the game).

Next up: A championship rematch against the Polar Bears who are coming off of their first loss of the season against the Chosen Few. Michael Trojillo will make his E league debut in goal and Rand Hill may finally get to play in a game this season! Join us on Monday, November 9th @ 9:25PM for what is sure to be an entertaining matchup.

13/10/2015

The Slashers have recorded their first win of the season, capturing the W against the newest addition to the league: The Rebel Scrum. Maxwell Kassan (3 goals, 2 assists) and Jason Campos (2 goals, 3 assists) led the way with 5 points each with Scott Blake and Rand Hill chipping in a goal a piece.

The scorekeeper seems to have fallen asleep in the third period however, as if I recall correctly, the final was 8-2, not 7-1.
