Thank you for cleaning up ’s cute face!
I always forget to count how many eggs I put in, but I think I have roughly 10-12 dozen eggs glassed for the winter! The ladies are starting to slow down production as the weather cools. I expect we have about a month or so left until they are done for the winter.
Thanks for taking care of ! 😍🐾💈
Have you tried ?Heading into our third winter with chickens soon and all our babies are finally laying! We now average 7-9 eggs a day so I’ve been stocking up. With the price of eggs so high, I don’t want to be buying them through the winter when I know I have enough if I take the time to store them. I found great containers at to try it with this year, but I also use old pickle jars-you know the ones. The huge beautiful glass jars that are so sad to throw away? They are perfect!
If you try Egg Glassing this year, please tag me-I’d love to see how it goes! 🤟🏼

***Quick Book Review***
Stories about the events of World War II have always interested me, and this story about pioneering women who flew military planes was a side I hadn’t heard about.
The Flight Girls follows Audrey as she navigates the USA’s involvement in the war, love, and repeated loss. Born to fly, she dreams of owning her own little airfield flying planes for life. When given the opportunity to be a flight instructor in Hawaii, she meets new friends including James, an airman. Their friendship grows throughout the war as they write to each other from all over the world.
Will there be romance? Will the war ever end? Is there hope in the face of extreme loss?
It was the perfect way to spend July 4th weekend celebrating the freedoms many men and women have sacrificed for. I definitely recommend this read!

***BOOK REVIEW***
’s Lily of the Valley is DEEP and made me feel the feels. Grief is a strange beast and it was addressed so beautifully in this story about Kes (one of The Gents) and his new neighbor Violet.
Known as Grumpy Uncle by The Gents, Kes is a socially awkward intellectual who sacrifices his need for alone time to be with his friends, fearing he will be left out or miss out on major events.
Throughout the story, Violet often. Refers to the advice from her previous Vicar “Be Sunny or Be Silent” and strives to live by that credo. Two years into adjusting life to her losses she is being crushed under the weight of always being sunny and never sharing her deepest thoughts and emotions.
Their experiences and types of loss are different, and they handle their grief in opposite ways, but as they become friends they realize sharing the weight of grief is important and healing.
