The cafe where I normally write in the mornings has an inconsistent supply of cheese. I’ve taken to smuggling in a slice in my pocket. I may have a problem.

(Final) Book Stop #6: The Fitzroy Tavern
Since and I just saw ’s performance of Dylan Thomas’s Under Milk Wood, it’s only fitting that I should end my literary romp through London here. The Fitzroy Tavern was a favorite hangout for Dylan Thomas, George Orwell, and George Bernard Shaw, among others. While I won’t be lining up beers on the bar and knocking them back like Thomas did, I might be inspired to write some poetry on the back of a beer mat.

I had a lovely visit with , a friend from . She showed me some beautiful signed first and rare editions, including four volumes of A. A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh whose covers formed a scene with four embossed characters when placed side by side. Thank you, Caroline! It was so nice to catch up. Come see me in Amsterdam!

Home of gorgeous manuscripts, first editions, and author notes. Pictured here: Canterbury Tales, the Magna Carta, Ted Hughes & Sylvia Plathe, Monty Python, Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest, and Shakespeare. I’d like to borrow all of them please! I did say please…

After looking for new edtech at the BETT conference in London for , it’s time to visit some bookshops. First stop arranged by country. A good time to pick up the Irish national epic.
Somehow I’ve managed to keep the heart in my cortado with every sip. I’ll take that as a sign that it’s going to be a good day.
This is what I look like when I’m writing four characters out of my , adding a friend and a love interest, switching genders for two characters, and making sure the voice matches the character’s age. I’m having fun…really 🙂
Getting to any way we can! and I tried a share scooter for the first time. We didn't die. Whew.
Actually, it was a whole lot of fun! We'll be doing it again...definitely.
