πŸŽžοΈπŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆQ***r Silicon Valley Documentary Airs on PBS Stations for Pride Month πŸ³οΈβ€πŸŒˆπŸŽžοΈ
The BAYMEC Community Foundation produced the documentary β€œQ***r Silicon Valley,” skillfully memorializes the work of a generation of activists who were all part of the LGBTQ+ movement in San Jose and Silicon Valley, from the 1970s to now.

Spanning almost 50 years, this groundbreaking documentary showcases 22 history-making activists, as they recount the struggles and discrimination they endured to ultimately build a local society that was accepting and inclusive. The film features many of the people who helped shape the vibrant and cohesive q***r culture that exists today.

The film is directed and co-produced by award-winning documentarian and San Jose State University professor Bob Gliner, for the Baymec Community Foundation (BCF). No such documentary has previously been produced that focuses exclusively on the q***r community in Silicon Valley. Co-Producer and BCF Executive Director Ken Yeager (https://www.facebook.com/KenOnTheGo) – also in the film as the first openly gay elected official in the county – says this: β€œEach of these 22 inspirational people interviewed deserve their own documentary. Their impact on q***r culture has been that profound.”

In June, the documentary will be playing as part of a double feature on NorCal - Public Media stations.

On KQED:
June 13th at 11:00 p.m.
June 14th at 5:00 a.m.

On KRCB-TV:
June 11th at 2:00 a.m.
June 11th at 4:00 p.m.

Q***r Silicon Valley is pleased to showcase a group of prominent LGBTQ people in our community that we know the least about. They are our Superior Court judges. As exemplary role models, they signal to young LGBTQ lawyers that becoming a judge is an option open to them. You can read more here: https://www.q***rsiliconvalley.org/politics-activism/judges/
