Congratulations to Kaylah Hill from Maryland Therapeutic Riding, Inc. for being named this year's PATH Intl. Youth Equestrian of the Year!
"At each lesson, Kaylah always has a plan and goals for her and her horse. Because of her riding success, she can't wait to make new friends at school and share with them about horseback riding. Over the years, Kaylah has become a voice to teach new volunteers about ways they can best support riders with visual impairments, and she can make anyone smile with her humor!
Congratulations to Debbie Hutchinson of Riding To The Top Therapeutic Riding Center in Windham, Maine for being named this year's PATH Intl. Adult Equestrian of the Year!
Debbie's instructor, Kate Jeton says, “She has formed an amazing bond with her horse Paxton and without assistance is able to walk and trot, modulating rhythm and pace and creating bend in her horse's body, in spite of not being able to effectively use her right leg. Her feel for her horse is obvious and her elation is infectious. She embodies the concept of living life to the fullest!”
Congratulations to Andrea Mozur of Windrush Farm in North Andover, Massachusetts, for being named this year's PATH Intl. Volunteer of the Year!
"As a mentor/volunteer she carries a level of enthusiasm that is contagious to all those around her. Andrea inspires us every day with her knowledge and caring. She can do anything, and willingly gives her time to the horses and humans in our program."
Wow!
It’s ! Old Billy was bred by Edward Robinson of Woolston, Lancashire, United Kingdon, & lived for 62 years!
Congratulations to Patricia Sayler of Equi-librium in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, for being named this year's PATH Intl. James Brady Professional Achievement Awardee!
"As an early pioneer in the equine-assisted services industry, her staunch, consistent support of the national association and its subsidiaries demonstrates not only her longevity but her continued support for the evolution of our field. Pat is a leader among many, for her forward-thinking, creative and innovative approach to service delivery. Her concern for both the effective, safe treatment of individuals receiving services and those providing services, has been a driving force in her support for national standards and her leadership in not only creating those standards but also in educating the membership."
Congratulations to Noble and his friends and caretakers at Misty Meadows Equine Learning Center in West Tisbury, Massachusetts for being named this year's PATH Intl. Equine of the Year! This award is proudly sponsored by Purina.
Noble is a 32 year old Percheron cross who is kind, courageous, and shows a constant dedication to protecting his herd and most importantly, has demonstrated that being a therapeutic riding equine is what he was born to be. When his humans tried to retire him to a nearby farm with excellent care, this escape artist had other ideas. Noble walked 7 miles back to Misty Meadows to show everyone he wasn't done helping those who need him!
Congratulations to Hospital Corpsman Third Class, US Navy Retired, Andy Earp from CHAPS Equine Assisted Services in Sheridan, Wyoming, for being named this year's PATH International Equine Services for Heroes® Equestrian of the Year!
CHAPS executive director, Kristen Marcus says, “At events, Andy is an advocate as well as a volunteer. He never stops, and that has been a greater recruitment tool than all our marketing campaigns combined. He rarely misses an event and is our go-to guy for pretty much any volunteer need. " Andy is now training for his PATH Intl. ESMHL Certification so he can work directly with veterans, law enforcement and emergency medical service providers!

On account that I've just seen a headline "Devon is in for changeable weather in February" with possible snow.
Look at these beauties! We hope they will be ready for riders this Spring. Sue, Joyce, and Susan bought these little beauties in July and have been working and training them to be therapeutic riding horses.
The other board members including me got to meet them this fall.
Research is a Good Thing: On the Virginia Tech Helmet Lab Study "Really, the most surprising thing about this study was not necessarily its results, but the fact that it has taken so long for independent research to be done on the efficacy of equestrian helmets."
