Família, what a year of challenge, loss, beauty and growth! 2023 for me has been a seminal year teaching how to show up and remain present and anchored in heart even in the face of the most painful moments of humanity.

Amidst the tragic events of this year, I have been filled with such gratitude & hope witnessing diverse communities along the tours open their voices, drop in and authentically express themselves without fear through the musical medicina!

While positive stat numbers are helpful, it is truly the stories I hear from you while we are on the road and in the DM's and comments that mean the most and help keep us going. Knowing the Música is finding her way to all of the places around Pachamama calling for love and healing is truly a gift.

Together we can família! Awakening to the beautiful world we know is possible. Each of us holding down our note 🎵 in the great orchestra de la vida, each of us standing for life ~ leaving everything and everyone we touch more beautiful than we found it.

Hózhóogo naasháa doo. May we all walk in beauty into this new cycle of 2024.

After touring all over Turtle Island and Europe this year, bringing a musical offering to my homeland of Brasil this year was truly a highlight. Gratitude to all my família Brasileira for showing up to co-create the experience along with the Eleva production crew. It was a dream to reunite with my mother and little brother for this historic offering. Planting the seeds to return to Brasil in 2024 and manifest some more offerings for all those who couldn’t make it!

There is so much intention in every part of how I design our live experience. Whereas some shows have an opening act, most of my performances begin with an Opening Activation that creates an opportunity for everyone to drop immediately into a safe container of play, expression and intimacy.

Drawing from my Music is Medicine curriculum and background in community building, this experience helps to cultivate embodied presence and remove barriers so we can quickly travel into the depths of the musical container together.

Feliz dia de los mu***os família! As the veil thins through the next few days, we are invited to honor, celebrate, grieve & praise the life & death of not only our loved ones who have transitioned, but also the lives of all the forgotten ones.

Our elders always remind us to put Life at the center of our altar. Water and flowers along with images of our ancestars helps bridge the seen and unseen. It is a way we acknowledge what has been lost and give thanks for all we have. In this way we continue collaborating with the hoop of life.

Amidst all the war and suffering in our world today, may we grieve and pray together for all those who are passing through the veils right now. Life is precious. Life is sacred. Loving presence is our resistance. Don't forget to dance and sing for all those who cannot.

Throughout my life I have been blessed to have Music present in some shape or form, and it’s served as a bridge to my connection to source, to creation, to the Great Mystery. I have come to know it as one of the most powerful medicines. It has healed me in my darkest hours, when I felt the most isolated, the most disconnected, the most traumatized.

Musica is the language of Agua💧and speaks directly to the Heart. ♥️ Amidst all the hurt, pain, violence and chaos right now, we must remember to sing ourselves and all our relations back home família…back to the present moment, where we can begin healing once again.

My heart mourns for all the grave losses of our relatives in Israel and Palestine. Singing you home…singing you home… beautiful Souls, we are singing you home. Sweet Waters of Oxum, anoint and heal amidst the violent flames.

Samaúma is a song that honors the Standing Tall Nation and is the Tupi name of the largest Amazonian tree, Ceiba Pentandra, also known as the “Tree of Life”. This is a prayer to all our ancient tree elders who are being lost around the world. It invokes the union of Mother Earth and Father Sky who embrace through the harmonic fractal of the rooted body. The Standing Tall Nations are our greatest teachers and allies who gently teach us that it is by becoming deeply rooted to the Earth that we may reach to the heavens while standing in our presence… belonging embodied in right relation to all of Life.

The Jaw Harp, also known as Đàn môi, is a revolutionary instrument birthed by the H'Mong People of Vietnam. Originally made from bamboo, this magical instrument began being made of brass following the mass genocide of the Vietnam War that left the land riddled with bullet shells. As a testament of true resilience, the Vietnam people transformed this material into an instrument of Beauty.

I first received this pocket-friendly sound-maker many years ago when I was teaching abroad. After a successful day of using my guitar to help children learn English, I was gifted my first Đàn môi along with its powerful origin story from a local teacher.

I love to think of it as the "original vocoder" or the "original synthesizer" which predates the electronic music we know today. Used for centuries in rituals, this little brass reed has the ability to induce trance - to transcend us - into healing states as it vibrates back and forth, and is one of my allies in sound healing.

Đàn môi is an extraordinary and often underutilized tool to explore a universe of sounds, textures, melodies and rhythms that resonate with our souls, allowing us to mimic + communicate with our relatives like the insects, frogs, plantas and bird tribes to name a few.
