We made it to Philadelphia. It was quite the eventful day of travel. From our brand new unopened Costco beef jerky looking suspicious, (they had to open up all the bags) to my breakfast burrito wrapped in foil that apparently looked like a block of dr*gs. Lol Then 30 minutes into our flight poor sis threw up. Thank goodness for puke bags. The Southwest crew was amazing at helping her. They got her cold wet rags for her neck and forehead, crackers, gave her multiple cans of water, sprite and ginger ale and then one of them sat down right in the aisle and talked to her for 15 minutes. Sis was just mortified that she had thrown up. The pilots were great and they called her up to the cockpit. It's been pouring rain here and it is really cold. Charlize found out they have a Carlos Bakery (Cake Boss) a mile away from the Ronald McDonald House so she wants something from there for her birthday cake on the 26th.

*****Book Synopsis****

The little dragon is living in a time before the world comes to understand that dragons can breathe fire. Go on a journey with the little dragon as he faces the odds of dealing with the strange reality of his body's response to the fire inside him and the strange symptoms that ail him. Read along as he seeks to find anyone who will help him.

This children's story is based on the life of the author, Daniel Kinchlea—a 9-year-old boy with a rare autoinflammatory disease. Daniel has struggled with symptoms of prolonged fevers, rashes, systemic arthritis, lung disease, and more. Early in Daniel's journey, finding proper access to the right kind of specialized healthcare was a struggle and concerns for his health were often dismissed. Now that he has proper care, he wished to bring recognition and awareness to these rare rheumatological diseases.

Happy Rare Disease Day, everyone! Today is February 28, 2023, and we want to draw your attention to the fact that February is month. In honor of , we are thrilled to announce that Charlotte, a little girl with a rare disease, has been chosen as the recipient of a donated Weimaraner puppy to become her very own service dog for fever & inflammation detection. We are incredibly grateful to Melissa Miller of Miller's Kennel Worldwide Weimaraners & Silky Terriers for her generous donation, which will make a huge difference in Charlotte's life.

This beautiful Weimaraner puppy will be trained to detect when Charlotte's body temperature rises or when inflammation is present and alert her family when necessary, providing her with the care and support she needs to manage her rare disease. We are proud to have worked with FMF & AID Global Association to make this happen.
We hope that Charlotte's story inspires others to learn more about rare diseases and the challenges faced by those living with them. Let's continue to raise awareness and support those affected by rare diseases on this important day.

The Remus Bowling Center fundraiser for the Mid Michigan Honor Flight Inc. is my favorite fundraiser all year. I love this event so much. To see how generous the community is about supporting our veterans is why I love being apart of it. Cause someday down the road the veterans flying will be my brothers and my generation of heroes.

When Bob McCall called me back in January of 2019 to see if I thought I could teach my EXTRAORDINARY Lil horse Charlie how to bowl I of course said YES not knowing how much Charlie would LOVE bowling 🎳 Then when he asked if I could see if Dr. Pol would bowl against his lil buddy I knew this event would create such wonderful memories. Bob puts on an AMAZING fundraiser with his team and they knock it out of the ballpark.

The entire Pol family is the most genuine kind hearted people. I'm so lucky to call them friends.

This year we added a little twist. It was the Incredible Dr. Pol and his beautiful wife Diane versus Charlie and the fabulous Diane L. Pol Jr. Let's just say Charlie and Dr. Pol were the handicaps on the teams. Somehow for the first time ever in his 4th bowling competition Team Charlie won. WAHOO we almost broke 100 points. Lol 😆 It's definitely not about winning but supporting Mid-Michigan Honor Flight and Remus Bowling Center.
