This week has been amazing and I have loved seeing all of the smiling faces everyday. Today we ended our week with our Back to School Power Party!!! The students enjoyed a game of Me Too😃 They picked their favorite thing from a list and then went to a specific area with others that said the same thing. This activity reminded the students that they are never alone and someone is always there for them. 🥰 We also celebrated our first Word of the Month ~ Responsibility. All of our poster entries were amazing..check out each grade levels winners in the pic below.

I'm very excited that EAC applied for and recieved a grant to get 2 new water fountains (with bottle fillers) aded to our school. We were selected as a recipient of this year’s H2O On the Go grant, presented by Delta Dental of Illinois Foundation and Illinois Children’s Healthcare Foundation. In addition the Delta Dental will also send other "goodies" for our students. I'll post updated pics when the sytstems have arrived and are installed.

Good evening,

I hope everyone is as excited as I am to be back at EAC. I am looking forward to getting to know your child and to help them learn to be the best version of themself that they can be. As we open the new school year I wanted to touch on a few points:

1. To help us ensure the safety of our students and to speed up our Parent Pick Up Routine we ask that all parents stay in their vehicle to pick up or drop off their student. Please pull forward and do not stop your vehicle until you are in the blue lined area (please pull up as far as you can in this line before stopping). From there you can, if needed, assist your child getting into their car seat.

a. If you are coming inside to pick up your student please park your car on the side street or in the parking lots (on either end of the building) and walk to the front doors. We will es**rt students out so there is no need to come inside during dismissal.

2. Students have 15 minutes to eat their lunch. Please practice with your child to help them stay focused and to eat during that time.

a. If your student brings something in their lunch that needs to be warmed in the microwave they must be able to do so independently. There are not any extra hands to help them with this process. I highly suggest that students in K-2 do not bring such items (ex Mac and Cheese in a cup) as most of them are not completely independent in the process from start to finish.

3. Students can be dropped off anytime after 7:30 am by the Gym Entrance (the 2nd set of doors when following the parent pick up line). Students go straight into the gym or are directed down to the cafeteria if they are eating breakfast.

Stole from a friend!!! It’s a perfect explanation as to why teachers say they are not ready 👍

When teachers say they aren’t ready for school to start back, it doesn’t mean we don’t love our job and your babies.

It means we know that our hearts are about to be broken and overjoyed a million times in these 9 months. Our stress level is about to go through the roof. The number of tears we shed multiplied. The amount of hours we spend thinking about, praying for, completing paperwork for, and worrying about your babies is astounding. And sometimes, no matter how hard we try, we end up disappointing at least one person.

We know we are soon to be putting on all of our other hats we wear and simultaneously trying to make sure our own families don’t feel like they come in second place.

This isn’t a job where we leave it all in our classroom at 3:30 and pick it back up at 7:00 the next morning. So while we may be wishing we could hold on to summer a little bit longer, know your babies have already been thought about, prayed over, and anticipated.

Please pray for your child’s teacher in the upcoming weeks. Offer grace. Assume the best in them and their intentions. Give them a smile. Hand them a coffee or loaded tea. Even better, give them a genuine thank you.

After many efforts to change the course of this decision, I am left with no other choice but to officially cancel this year's Baseball Season. We are hoping to recuperate for next school year and be able to field a full roster.

Baseball practice for tomorrow has been cancelled. We will review our numbers and keep everyone updated on any future plans asap.

Softball Team SpiritWear

The softball team is selling fan wear as a small fundraiser. The store link below is attached and will be open until Friday, August 16th. Turn around time to get your spiritwear is usually 2 weeks after the store closes.

Softball practice for tonight will be cancelled due to the heat warning. We are just observing an abudance of caution as cool temps should be right around the corner. At this time the rest of the week's practice schedule will followed as scheduled.

Update Thursday’s practice will be from 8:00-9:30.

Attention all EAC 5-8th Grade Boys...we are in desperate need of boys to join our school baseball team. At the end of the week we have to review if we will have enough players to man a team. Previous experience is not mandatory, Ms. Kelley is anxious to meet all new players. This week's baseball schedule is attached below.

Just a quick announcement to update our girls that they can wear (dress code approved) shorts to practice until further notice. Also remember to bring water to practice.

New school spirit wear for our EAC families and friends. There are two color options and a few different styles of shirts. As of now the projected close date is August 25th (trying to move it until the 30th). Turn around time I believe is two weeks after the close date.
