A little throwback to our first VBS back in 2013.
I still remember the craziness of that first week 😅
We planned for 100 kids, expected maybe 50-75 if we were lucky.
Well. About 200 showed up! We crammed in as many as we could, pulled a loaves & fishes and stretched out our materials, prayed, and let God take it where He wanted.
These sweet babies were 2 of our “extras” that we crammed into the classroom. You can tell by those smiles how unbelievably grateful and excited they were to have been there.
10 years. In 10 years God took us from 4 teachers and 200 kids, to 20+ teachers and thousands of kids. God is good y’all.

We are Southern Sudan Mission, a 501c3 nonprofit organization dedicated to sharing the Gospel (Good News)!
Starting in 2011 as a preaching school, we have grown to include a VBS team, a World Bible School center, agriculture, a medical clinic, teaching English, build water wells, and now tackling starting a tuition free school!
We are humbled and in awe of what God is doing with this work in Ethiopia & South Sudan.

I'm so excited to partner with my fave indie bookstore, Village Books, to participate in their 'Ringing Up Kindness' charity event!
Here's the skinny-
Join me on Saturday, April 22, 10-11am, and shop for books!
This fundraiser will benefit an organization that I've been a part of for 10 years now. The Southern Sudan Mission is in the process of building a school for an orphanage of about 600 kids who are housed next to one of our congregations. Since school in Ethiopia is not free, these kids have no chance for an education or a job. This will cause most of them to live a life of crime & poverty. With an education, they will be able to create a life they never even dreamed possible.
