Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself that I actually am doing the things I've always wanted to do, and that I am making progress bit by bit. This year didn't have as many releases as it could have or even as many as I would have liked, but it was my most productive year so far when it came to music. Looking back over the journey and seeing support from the industry that raised me is always surreal, but every now and then I get to pop my head up, and see how different the landscape is from year to year.

Over 20 years ago I remember stumbling onto the first few ISOS mixes and being completely obsessed with them. I've been playing music from the early editions in the series in my live sets for as long as I can remember, and I credit much of my early adoption and obsession with trance and progressive to these mixes. My teens and 20s are littered with memories where those mixes were playing in the background. Much of the style of music I produce is stylistically derived from music on the first 7 compilations, and it always felt like the pinnacle of what I held dear in electronic music as a whole. As the years have moved on I feel like ISOS has maintained its status as a statement about the efficacy of trance and progressive in the modern and Post EDM climates.

Earlier this year while on tour with Ilan Bluestone he mentioned to me that he had been tapped to put together one of the mixes for the 19th installment. Not sure if I was even up to the task I asked if I could send him some of my work for consideration. As is the case with much of the rest of my career something I had desperately been chasing was now right in front of me, and the only real barrier was my willingness to push myself beyond what I thought I was capable of. I sent in 4 tracks, and after late-night studio sessions, revision after revision, and spending time in the studio with Ilan himself, ultimately two of my tracks were selected.

The first, Sciya, is a dark progressive warehouse-inspired track aimed at the techy side of my performances. Wanting to find a way to draw driving and rhythm-focused music into my sets from inspirations such as Dosem, Genix, Jerome Isma Ae, and more. I wanted to craft something that would serve as a bridge between darker techno-influenced progressive, and traditional melodic trance that the ISOS series is known for.

The second was a remix of a classic trance track from ISOS 5, Jonas Steur's Second Turn. Easily one of my favorite tracks of all the ISOS compilations. I've always felt that a lighter, progressive, and more Balearic approach to tracks from this era would fit well in the modern progressive landscape. Moving away from massive synths and chord walls, and staying truer to the softer side of progressive.

With all that being said, I am so ecstatic to check this compilation off my bucket list with my best productions so far. More so along with so many talented artists and friends across all three discs. To be included amongst such a collection of incredible music, and incredible friends is an achievement that makes this whole grind so much more worth it. I can't wait to see you all out on a dancefloor again soon, with so much more music to share with you.

It's about time that I got a chance to come back and do a proper show in my hometown. I can't wait to be back in Denver, and I've got EMATA and Hausman on support duties for one of the best nights of trance and progressive> Hope to see you all out!
