I attended Southern Utah University pursuing general studies and continued my education at Utah Valley University majoring in Emergency Management. I have over 17 years in the fire service as a wildland firefighter, volunteer firefighter and as a professional structural firefighter and instructor. I currently volunteer with North Tooele Fire District and serve the citizens of Salt Lake County as a
Captain on Unified Fire Authorities’ Heavy Rescue Team. I am also a Rescue Team Manager with FEMA’s Utah Task Force-1 and have responded to national and state disasters as a member of this team. I have also traveled internationally, teaching technical rescue skills to firefighters and military personnel in Kyrgyzstan as a subject matter expert for the Department of Defense. Now I am looking forward to working for my neighbors as a member of the North Tooele Fire District Board. My wide range of experience at the local, state and national level makes me uniquely qualified to serve in this capacity. I have an understanding of how the fire service works in rural as well as urban areas and how to best support NTFD Administration’s integration of the two, to best serve our evolving community.
