Anyone watching Shetland on BBC1 last night would have seen that our old VW Passat is still going strong at nearly 200k, the car was sold a couple of years ago for film use but this is the first time we've spotted it.
Four of our cars at Addenbrookes Hospital recently, 3 x Volvos & 1 x BMW. Plus yours truly assuming the pose! π€
Proud to support Organ Donation Week along with all the people within NHSBT that make these miracles happen and dreams come true β€οΈπ
ECMO ambulances plus ECMO Support
A very rare occurrence yesterday when five of our vehicles were at the same location so we took the opportunity to get a couple of photos. Now, ETS don't do photography.... but if they did.....π
Three former ETS999 RRV's now enjoying life on the Emerald Isle under the care of EFAST Ireland Ltd
Our latest arrival, a newly-converted Volvo V90 D5 AWD, headed to the Nottingham area to replace our faultless Volvo V60 which has just ticked over 135k. Treated right, these Volvos are nothing short of awesome π
The V60 will be for sale in a couple of weeks, anyone interested please let us know
Our Nottingham driver Jonathan braved the chilly temperatures and supported the Midlands area SNOD's (Specialist Nurses for Organ Donation) early this morning on a hot air balloon flight initiated by the SNOD's in conjunction with Nottingham University Hospitals and NHSBT.
The event was organised by SNOD Skye Irvine-Berry and the purpose was to raise awareness and promote organ donation, a subject very close to our hearts at ETS. Three of the SNOD's wrapped up warmly and 'enjoyed' an hour's flight in the balloon!
SNOD's pictured are (from left to right) Ruth Ballington, Sophie Bradford, Sadie Harris, Jenna Povey & Skye Irvine-Berry, well done all and keep up the amazing work you do
A very artistic snap of our Focus at Royal Papworth one night recently. You'll notice the lack of livery on the bumper, this is due to an encounter with one of the many kamikaze deer that dare each other to run across the road in front of us at night. This one lost π And it cost us a bumper π
The bumper livery will be replaced in the next week or so.
Our 2015 Volvo V70 with 314000 miles on it is off to his new home covering events in London and the South. This car has been nothing short of awesome in the hands of Keith, our longest serving driver whose ill-health has lead to the sale of the car. It still drives, literally, like new. Both Keith and his V70 will be missed.
So proud to have played a very small part in this amazing processπ
ETS has been involved in organ donation for 8 years now and I still find this awe-inspiring and amazing. So proud that we are able to play a small part in this life-giving programme
Our 15 reg Volvo V70 celebrated hitting the 300,000 mile mark yesterday with a gentle 620 mile round trip to Wales and sailing through MOT. Still averaging over 50mpg thanks to the considerate driving of Keith who has driven the car all but the first 6000 miles of the 300,000. We normally replace our vehicles at the 100k mark but the V70 slipped through the net a few years ago and keeps on impressing us with its reliability and comfort. Long may it continue.
Our ECMO retrieval team in action, picking up a patient from another hospital to bring back here to Royal Papworth for advanced respiratory support π«π.
Police Issue Guidance To Motorists On What To Do When You Spot An Emergency Vehicle You will see advice being shared on social media about how to respond to emergency vehicles, but here is some 'official' advice.
Our latest arrival now fully role-converted and on the road next week
Donation after circulatory death (DCD) heart transplant A DCD heart transplant - also known as non-beating hearts - in action at Royal Papworth Hospital. In DCD transplants, hearts that have stopped beating are re...
Our brand new ECMO ambulances at Royal Papworth, all equipment transferred over today, just waiting for the first activation. Unfortunately that probably won't take very long.....
Although it's Christmas Day we operate 24/7/365 so spare a thought for two of our guys that were called out in the wee small hours and aren't likely to be home anytime soon.
ETS drivers consistently go over and beyond. Their efforts are greatly appreciated. Thanks guys & happy Christmas!
Our Ipswich & Nottingham cars coincidentally arriving at the same hospital 'oop North' recently π
