The event brought together hundreds of leaders from every sector of The Bahamas to discuss how the nation is advancing the 17 SDGs.

The ORG team actively participated in work groups with government and private sector colleagues, sharing our efforts and co-creating actionable solutions to overcome the obstacles limiting our nation's development.

Day Three at the International Anti-Corruption Conference!

ORG is proud to attend a powerful session on "Working Across Sectors to Build Consensus for Governance Reform," chaired by the internationally renowned founder of Transparency International, Peter Eigen.

This session emphasizes the crucial collaboration between civil society, government, and the private sector to develop sustainable solutions to the Bahamas' longstanding governance issues—a key focus of ORG's mission.
Hearing about the successes and challenges of multi-sector efforts worldwide highlights the importance of every group having a meaningful seat at the table.

This experience reinforces ORG's commitment to building citizen and Civil Society capacity through community engagement initiatives like Active Citizens Bahamas and our Not-for-Profit Cluster Training series. Every sector of our nation plays a vital role in improving governance, and ORG is dedicated to bringing all sides together.

Day 2 at the International Anti-Corruption Conference!

We’re off to an inspiring start with motivating comments from the President of Lithuania.

Yesterday was a day full of enlightening workshops on including the marginalized, measuring governance effectiveness, and promoting accountability and civic involvement.
These sessions served as a powerful reminder that the challenges we confront in our pursuit of positive change in The Bahamas are not unique to us. They are shared by a vibrant global community advocating for transparent and fair governance, one that is committed to building public trust and participation.

ORG connected with leaders from NGOs, governments, and international organizations from Macedonia, South Africa, Jordan, Bulgaria, Cote d’Ivoire, Brazil, Madagascar, Germany, and more! We shared lessons learned and explored resources to enhance our efforts back home.
And yes, we even shared a very packed cab with some of our new friends!

ORG is proud to attend the 21st International Anti-Corruption Conference in Vilnius, Lithuania, with over 2,000 leaders from civil society, government, and the private sector representing over 120 countries. The conference theme is “Standing Up for Integrity.”

ORG is here to share our current efforts and strategies and acquire skills and resources to help engage and educate Bahamians in fostering integrity in Governance.

In partnership with the Bahamas Protected Areas Fund and the Global Environment Facility, ORG hosted a dynamic fundraising training session for environmental NGOs at IDB House. Over 40 organizations, including the Bahamas National Trust and Bahamas Humane Society, joined the hybrid session.

IT'S GRADUATION DAY! 🎓

After several weeks of training sessions, seminars, and site visits, today the Organization for Responsible Governance held a closing ceremony marking the end of the Be Clear Bahamas program with The Leadership Academy in New Providence. The educational program focused on 'Capacity Building for Decision Making' with sessions on media literacy, financial literacy, critical thinking skills, and public trust.

During the closing ceremony, students presented recommendations as part of their case study of the New Providence Ecology Park, in three areas: recycling, education, and environmental safety. In addition to these areas, students emphasized the importance of fostering public trust in governance and environmental initiatives. They highlighted the need for transparent communication, community engagement, and accountability in decision-making processes to build and maintain trust between the public and public institutions.
