I would love to hear your traditions! My husband and I grew up with totally different holiday traditions, so while raising our child, sometimes it was hard to agree on what we should be doing. For instance, the Easter bunny always came to my house in the middle of the night, and left a basket filled with candy and goodies. My husband’s family tradition was that the Easter bunny would hide stuffed plastic eggs and all of the kids would find them. We would also do that, but it was more of an “after church” kind of thing, and all of the kids knew that they were hidden by the parents. When we got married, I had no idea that other people did it differently, I guess I just assumed that the Easter bunny stopped at everyone’s house🤷🏻‍♀️🤣. Does he stop at your house? What does he leave? Candy? Toys? Inquiring minds want to know!

Yall know I love me some repetition, so why would 1000 little dots be any different?🤷🏻‍♀️…this cookie took a surprisingly long time, but it was so satisfying watching it come together. It was a clear example of . How often do you want to chunk a cookie halfway thru, but end up loving it after you’ve pushed yourself to finish it?

This was my entry for the Books and Literature category…I am obsessed with learning anything and everything about the Holocaust, and I feel like if our generation doesn’t keep the story alive, it could disappear forever. As I was gaining inspiration for what I wanted to do, I came across . I reached out to several companies on Etsy to make me a template for her face, and they all told me that my idea wouldn’t be possible. I decide to check on Instagram, and found THE BEST, .books, and he immediately responded with a YES! He encouraged and helped through the entire process, even FaceTimed with me to help me❤️. I tried using several different brands of wafer paper, but worked the best, and I was able to get it in bulk on , so that was definitely a plus. It ended up being 160 pages, with 1345 wafer paper folds to form her face. It took FOREVER! I’m not even sure how many hours🤷🏻‍♀️

Hey hey gram fam, I have missed yall SO much! After 7 long months, I finally decided to try my hand at cookies again. has come with a whole set of challenges that I was not prepared for. The humidity and heat here is insane! The last time that I did cookies, everything went wrong…from the butter bleeding through my icing creating an ugly mess, to the icing not drying hard, to MANY craters, and the cookie being so soft that it wouldn’t hold together🤦🏻‍♀️, it was a disaster and I basically threw my hands in the air. I packed up my cookie room only months after unpacking it. It was a hard pill to swallow that maybe this isn’t the environment for cookies🤷🏻‍♀️. Of course I still dreamed of cookies every night🤣. So I decided to try again and keep it simple, add more flour, use thicker consistency icing, and crank the air down…and it worked this time💃🏼. I am still not ready to sell, but it gives me hope for the future!

It’s time to get back into the swing of things! I finally got my cookie room unpacked, and I’m ready to start testing my recipes here in the humid south. I’ve heard horror stories about how the humidity affects icing, so I’m a little nervous about that😬.

These beauties are ready to become ...if you don’t know, I make homemade apple butter that goes into all of my recipes. I’m not really a sugar cookie person, so this really changes up the texture and makes it not so much a sugar cookie. It comes with its own set of problems, and who knows how it will do with the humidity, but it’s time to give it a go...fingers 🤞🏻!
