Friends and family I would like to invite you to join me this Friday and Saturday (12/1-12/2) at the 2023 International Entrepreneurs Fair hosted by the Fundacion Internacional Maria Luisa de Moreno to find out more about my small business Sparkle STEM Connect. I will be alongside many entrepreneurs who have also benefited from the wonderful courses that this foundation has to offer. The event is completely virtual, so you can visit us from any country. Happy International Women and Girls in Science day!!

The first box for this year is centered around loving yourself! We often struggle with this because of societal influences, that make us feel ashamed of loving ourselves or scared that we will come across as conceited or self-absorbed but self-love is none of that.

It is important to take care of ourselves and nurture our relationship with ourselves, to improve our self-confidence.

What are your thoughts around self-love?

One of the main goals of the Sparkle STEM Connect box is to feature a in every box!

For our very first feature, we have the talented .holladay and her shop .tech!

She has the cutest stickers and is so creative! I asked her if she could create something around the Sparkle theme and she created the beautiful sticker you see on the last picture!

I love how she is changing the script for girls to feel welcome in STEM and tech!

Working Moms Are…
Complex! Resilient! Supernatural! Masters! This mother’s day we are celebrating working moms. We loved talking with these wonderful women about how you can advocate for yourself, resources you should know about, and what being a working mom means to them. Check out their Q&A’s at the link in our bio.

I am so excited to finally announce this rebrand that I have been working on for the past few weeks!! I want to thank all of you for supporting me through this STEM Paws journey and helping me realize that there is so much more I want to do to help other women in STEM! 💃🏽

This project has been in the works for years, but I always kept pushing it down because of my own imposter syndrome and thoughts of “Who am I” to be the one to do this, however, throughout the last year, I have met some wonderful people and even more women in STEM that have helped this idea resurface and have helped me realize that I have enough experiences to share as a woman in STEM myself and knowledge to help others as well! So I am going for it! 🙈

There will still be a component for our wonderful and pets that will be part of this new project, because dogs always have to be involved in what I do :) but the main focus will be all of you ladies!

I would love for all of you to be a part of this new journey and that’s why I am sharing everything from scratch, even down to picking out a name!

Happy National Pet Day!!

Pets bring so much joy to our lives and we are so blessed to have them!

Meetings usually run long and they feel so unproductive sometimes!

Who can relate!?🤣

World Water Day is a day dedicated to calling attention to the worldwide water related issues that we face. Many times we take water for granted, especially when we are fortunate enough to have clean running water to wash our hands or use a working toilet!

The need for clean drinking water has always been on my mind ever since I learned about it back in Elementary school, and it was one of the factors that influenced my decision to become a Civil and Environmental engineer!

We all need water and not everyone has easy access to it, so let’s do our part to make sure others have access to it too!

It’s Monday, and aside from that, I was on vacation last week and we have to change our passwords like every 60 days, so of course I changed it before going on vacation so it took me a little bit longer to get started today when I couldn’t remember my password! 🤣
The best part was I had it written down but couldn’t remember in which notebook I had it in! 😇

Anyone else have similar struggles on a Monday morning?!

🗣 This week we have the pleasure of introducing the talented Latina, Laura Prieto, Civil & Environmental Engineer/ Entrepreneur/Podcaster.

We asked her some questions and here are her responses.

⭐ What are you working on right now? Right now I am working on new episodes for my podcast, also working on 2 new fall bandana designs for my STEM-inspired shop for women and their dogs, designing the drainage for some urban local roads in my corporate job, and raising a strong toddler!

⭐ What is the best advice you have ever received?
That if you want something you need to Ponerse las Pilas! My parents have always been big on this advice and it has helped me so much in every aspect of my life.

⭐ What advice would you give your younger self?
To enjoy the learning process and not be so focused on the reward, but instead focus on the greatness of each day even when it's hard.

⭐ Who taught you your biggest life lesson and what was it?
1. Determined 2. Responsible 3. Dependable

⭐ Anything else you'd like to say?
I really enjoy your posts and motivation for Latinas so keep it up!

Im celebration of Engineer’s Week, I wanted to share with all of you some of the great women engineers, who are also dog moms 🐶, that I admire and commend for the great work they’re doing in advocating for STEM! Pet lovers we need your help!! A fire broke out at the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando off of Conroy Road and sadly 23 cats lost their lives. The survivors were transferred to the Sanford location so if you can please help!

The items they need are:
• towels
• wet cat food
• cleaning products
• financial donations

I will be donating 50% of sales from my shop through the end of the month. Spread the word so more people can help!
