H O P E

Since the time I moved into the business world, the word HOPE is pretty much identified or categorized as a swear word. In business, we don't HOPE that something happen - we either make something happen or not.

But over the past few years, my personal life has very much become a focal point of my self-development. Because I'm pretty much an addict when it comes to learning, researching, finding problems to solve, etc., this is just part and parcel of my natural ways in how I work in business but the WORK that needed to be put into my personal life became very apparent and so what was once oblivious to my day to day life became front and centre... where am I in relation to love. Love with my family, my daughter, my friends, myself and the possibility of loving new special people coming into my life.

So what does this have to do with H O P E?
I'm learning that LOVE Always HOPES... and thank you to Trisha Fenimore for bringing this to my attention with clarity.

I lost my mom within weeks of finding out I was pregnant nearly 13 years ago. I immediately shifted from processing this loss to auto-pilot... I turned off my emotions as best as I could to do my very best to not have that pain risk the success of the pregnancy. I believed this was my mother's gift to me and I was determined to not lose this gift.

The trouble with this was I didn't realize that turning off emotions as a coping mechanism meant you can't pick and choose which emotions you do and don't want - I just flat lined on them so there would be no risk of pain (aka: grief). This turned into Love Means Pain.

It wasn't until my daughter was nearly 20 months old that I suddenly but finally started the REAL journey of grief. My daughter and I were not connecting - I had thrown myself at my business, into my business, and was engrossed in the day to day business activities. Makes sense right... it was my safe place to hide from really deep feelings.

LOVE can be seen as a risk because we're scared of the pain it can cause. The deeper the love, the more it will hurt when something happens. But HOPE, hope is that tiny little idea that His plan for us is being revealed and we have the word HOPE in our language because those hopeful thoughts give us nuggets to look forward to, to reach for, to wait for, to believe in.

This year, it just seemed to be the right time to pause and recognize my LOVE that has grown within me and capture with my daughter. Over the next few days, I'll share with you some of our photoshoot. My HOPE with sharing this with you all is that you will consider that to be vulnerable to LOVE is to be HOPEFUL that this IS JUST PART OF HIS PLAN, no matter what type of LOVE that is - so you're feeling and living awesome moments in your life.

Yesterday I noticed the sensors alert me to an air pressure issue - so I figured it was a nail or something so I’d just top it up using my fancy - dancy new air compressor (thanks to JK for one of the most thoughtful gifts a single mom could receive 🎁 😉) until I could get my tire fixed.

So even though I was to be in Newmarket today, and I had to reschedule appointments, I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to have met some very friendly and helpful folks here in Barrie to get me back on the road. And I’m grateful for the understanding of those that I needed to adjust appointments with 🥰
