Some Monday motivation to share about a humbling experience I had at the gym this weekend...
I was going to town on one of my HIIT workouts when I noticed a middle aged woman in a walker come over and start doing some exercises next to me.
She was kind enough to wait until I was done and waved me down to ask me if she could take some videos of a few of the exercises I was doing. The woman went on to explain that she wanted to take the videos back to show her therapist to see if she could work some of them into her program.
After talking with her for a little bit she revealed that she suffers from a debilitating nerve condition but makes it a point to get in the gym everyday in addition to her therapy sessions. She has successfully been able to keep herself out of a wheelchair and is determined to do so as long as she possibly can.
Her words of advice to me were to "never take your body for granted". A simple thing like being able to sit and get out of a chair without falling over was a huge accomplishment for her.
She was so grateful I took the time to talk with her and let her take the videos. It was the most humbling experience I've had in a long time.
Remember to be thankful for what your body can and has accomplished. Perspective is everything!
Well here we are 8 months later 😬
Thankful for more knowledge this pregnancy and approaching my training a little differently. Slow and steady to get my core and pelvic floor strength back and my main focus has been mastering the fundamentals again. I just recently started with the higher intensity HIIT sprints and jumping... My bod is a little more beat up this time around. 😆
Still have a long way to go but progress is progress! It's amazing what our bodies can do! 👊💪

Flex Friday!!
Hit the 6 month postpartum mark and finally starting to break through the plateau I hit. I mixed up the workouts again and it seems to be paying off 🤞
Hoping to get my stomach under control soon to dial in my nutrition more but for working out 90% of the time at home now,I really can't complain about my progress.
Mid 30s after 2 babies and I think I'm stronger with better body composition than in my 20s. Age is only a number ladies!! It's amazing what your body can do...
Keep doing work and putting the time in! Summer here we come ☀️😎

Excuse my dirty mirror...but it's Flex Friday!! Getting some obliques back so that's a happy thought to start the weekend! 😁💪
I've learned over the years that ab work is overrated. I rarely ever do "ab workouts", I may mix 1-2 ab focused exercises into my workouts a couple days a week. Just focusing on proper core engagement during my lifts and posterior work is really what has made the difference for me.
Doing 100 crunches a day is probably not an efficient way to go about your core. If you're a Mama like me, focusing on your transverse abdominal work is going to get you the most bang for your buck and help pull that waist in. Kick the mom pooch to the curb!

HAHA This year is flying by, but I have to say I'm looking forward to the warmer weather and summer vacations. I switched it up the past 2 weeks to kick up the intensity and add a little more cardio into my routine. Interset HIIT is no joke! Haven't been this sore in a long time.

Didn't get a chance to put up on my website yet, but got er done this morning. We have:

Ham Broccoli and Cheese Egg Casserole
Went back to my favorite meal service this week for dinners. Can't go wrong with their oven ready meals and selection of healthy choices. Makes evenings a little less crazy!

The weather is finally starting to get nice around here and we have thankfully been able to get out and do some "normal" activities again. Hoping for continued better days ahead. Locking a toddler in a house for almost a year is no fun for anyone involved! 😆😵💫
My meal plan was short and sweet this week. We have some baked oatmeal, buffalo chicken tacos, turkey meatballs, and some other easy to throw together meals.

Flex Friday!! 💪
Posting some results from the workout program I've been doing since I got back to working out after pregnancy.
I was doing 3 days a week full body workouts with 1-2 HIIT days mixed in. My focus this time around has been on body composition instead of just simply losing the weight. No drastic changes here and I've only lost about 5 lbs since giving birth but my measurements have improved a lot especially my waist and hips!
Still trying to get that mom pooch taken care of which I know will be more my diet than anything. 🙈 Feel like my skin is so much more stretched this second time around but I grew a human and that's just a fact of life. I'll get there!!
My strength is coming back which makes me 😁

Well I made it through my first week back in the pharmacy... Pretty sure I was on candid camera the whole time, but I survived and that's all that matters! 😵💫
I'm back in the comfort of my home office and yoga pants this week. Still went ahead and prepped a couple lunches and a few quick breakfast options.
I was not a fan of Green Chef so went back to Home Chef oven ready meals for dinner. Green Chef had some tasty recipes, but I wouldn't recommend for those watching their caloric intake. Each recipe was almost 1000kcal a serving and there weren't many "healthy living" ligher options available.

Saturday morning gym time... Feeling pretty good about my progress. It's a lot harder the second time around but we're getting there.
4 months postpartum, down about 5lbs but a lot more inches than I expected! My strength is slowly coming back and need to focus on my Nutrition a little more but overall can't complain with how crazy life has been. Could also use a little tan 😆😆😆

I started the study program over maternity leave since I knew I'd be spending a lot of time stuck in the nursery. I made it for Flex Friday!
Finally got to the gym this morning... I love my home gym but can't beat the atmosphere and getting out of the damn house! 😵💫
I'm 9 weeks into the program I'm doing and my weight loss has stalled. I have that pesky 5lbs hanging on, but I am starting to see some muscle coming back and my measurements are improving. 🙌 I try not to focus on the scale since that only tells half the story.
Keep working hard and it'll pay off in time. Trust the process!! 😉💪
