I was never very adventurous and definitely not athletic. Once I lost weight, I realized that I was not the only person who struggled with their relationship with food and their body. I have a wide variety of interests including nutrition (so I became a Certified Nutritional Health Coach), weightlifting/endurance, wellness/mindset/personal growth (also have a degree in Psycholog

What's one of your food favorites?
Saying that you "can't have" a food or it's a "bad" food messes with your head and usually ends in obsessing out the food and a binge of some degree.
A better way is to say "I might have this later, but now I choose not to". You remain in your power.
Now I'm not saying to divorce people from your life, but I am saying to spend less time with those who drain your energy and dreams.
You deserve your goals and vivaciousness, don't allow anyone to take that from you just because they have given up on theirs!

Your cortisol is naturally very high in the morning (helps you get your butt out of bed), now add an alarm blaring at you, a child smacking/yelling at you to get up, the thoughts of the things you "must" accomplish today, top it off with sprints on the gym's treadmill...and now you're body's in a fight or flight response of fear and anxiety.
Taking a peaceful walk outside will lower the cortisol levels, get you some invigorating fresh air, let your mind come up with creative solutions to the day's challenges, and give your body the benefits of movement.
Now, later in the day, if you want to conquer some sprints or kickboxing...have at it!

I read an article that said that the most powerful words to inspire courage are...You're not alone.
I found this to be interesting because I didn't consider it to be a very strong phrase, initially.
However, we are social creatures, extremely fearful of being rejected or exiled from the "pack/tribe". Way back in the day, to be exiled pretty much meant a certain death. Luckily, now the consequences are typically less grim.
Think about when you've faced a major challenge, when feelings of shame or guilt came up, or you experienced a negative event. If a loved one came to you and said, "You're not alone", would you feel supported and know that you'll get through the challenge? I would and that's that made me agree with the view of the writer of the article.
