Become StrongHer 2023: Herstory

The Rho Chapter of Kappa Phi Lambda Sorority, Inc. would like to invite you to our Become Strongher week as we highlight the theme “Herstory” and promote empowerment to our community. Herstory, a term coined by Robin Morgan in the 1970s, is used to describe history from a feminist point of view or with special attention to the experience of women. We strive to emphasize this theme throughout our philanthropy event, forum, and scholarship.

Since joining Kappas, I have gained a big boost in confidence. I have learned to love and trust myself more, while still knowing that I can lean on sxsters and their support. Kappas gave me responsibility and support always. Working with strong, empowering sxsters who want the best for me has motivated me to grow and to love myself confidently. Even if I struggle or have bad days, I know sxsters have my back and will always be there for me. My big constantly inspires me to be the best person I can be. Thanks to this loving community, I know I can bounce back stronger than ever.

I have improved not just professionally and academically, but my confidence has grown as I’m surrounded by supportive sxsters as well as being encouraged by their ambition in their own paths. I still stumble and get hurt but I’m gradually becoming who I want to be without regrets.

Ever since I joined Kappas my freshman year, I've grown so much both personally and professionally. For a long period of my life, I was very reserved and timid. People who know me now know that I am very much the opposite of that lol.
