Have you ever thought about a product, service, or experience that could impact the business landscape?
Have you ever thought about starting your own business but aren't sure how to get started?
Well, we are getting cranked up for the 2018 Innovation Lab class, scheduled for spring quarter. In this course, you will work collaboratively in teams of three that you personally select to create a business plan and pitch presentation, which will culminate in a "Shark Tank" type pitch to entrepreneurs on Sunday June 3rd with a $1000 prize for the winning team!
This is a hands-on learning laboratory class focused on researching a business idea developing a business plan (no textbooks or traditional lectures), the course will meet formally for coaching sessions on Thursdays from 2-3:40 pm.

Description of PUC Innovation Lab class:
GNRL 496 Innovation Lab will focus on the collaborative development of a plan for an organizational start-up (profit or non-profit) offering products or services to customers. Students seriously interested in this type of activity are encouraged to apply for consideration. Coaching will be provided on service/product identification and potential demand, legal structure, financial elements to start and sustain the organization, promotion and marketing, and product/service design and ex*****on.
To be considered for this course, you will find two partners whose interests align with yours, but who ideally have complementary skills. You will also attend an information session in week five of winter quarter and you will follow-up with a proposal to course faculty by the beginning week eight of the winter quarter. Approval to proceed will be provided by the beginning of week nine.
You will meet regularly with your team and course faculty during spring quarter and will compete with other teams registered for the course culminating in a contest near the end of spring quarter, where your conceptual plan will be judged against your peers.
The winning team will be rewarded with at least $1,000, potential physical space, and consulting services to support their business development for one year. Venture capital funding may also be possible for superior business concepts.
