International Women's Day
I celebrate...
The hungry mother who drank water so her children could eat beans.
The courageous mother who walked away from the man who brought her grief.
The bold mother who believed her child when the child cried "I was touched in a bad way."
The determined mother who spends her last penny on school fees.
I celebrate ....
The young woman who placed a charge against the one who s*xualized her at work.
The young woman who sat in a classroom society made for men.
The young woman, who with a belly bump, marched on graduation day.
I celebrate
All women who have silently or loudly shed tears while breaking barriers and leaving their marks.
All women who no matter what age accomplished their goals.
All women who are warriors even in the darkest days.
