Warhead Records
Australia's Heaviest Metal Label
Death by Drano!
AFTERMAAAAATH.....
5 bulbs in Jeff killing himself for death/grind
Kim West - One of the best people I've known in my life.
We all love you to bits Kim!
PERSECUTION
Rod & Scott
One of my favourite bands. We caned the crap out of the Persecution CD at the Hammer House. Always had this great cross over vibe with the whole crust punk extreme hard core scene going on.
SLASHER - The most evil man in the world!
The crowd at a Frozen Doberman gig.
Mad thrash band that always made everyone go beserk.
Are you in this pic? Can you identify any fu**er?
HEADSTONE!
Ultimate doom band
Crowd at a gig
Shane from Manticore, Crazy Lisa, Chook from Tscabeze - who else?
Identify someone and win 5 grand!
Doug Dalton & Brad Sims at some gig or other... Looks like the Lewo.
How s**tfaced does the bloke in the Boltthrower shirt look?
Glen Sullivan & Red in the background.
Anyone see themselves in this?
CRUCIFORM
From the early days when it was always Cruciform, Aftermath and Persecution with a knife fight in the car park to sort out who was playing first.
Those three bands were a scene unto themselves, they were the best of death, doom and grind in the scene at the time. Every gig was fu***ng unreal!
Apostasy!
Searching everywhere for some horrible meaning to 888....
Can only find 'angel' numbers, the number of christ, and 'good luck and being on the right path'. Even worse 'a relentless struggle against chaos and evil'.
Utterly disappointed.
Where's Baal or Astaroth when you need them?
Greg Morelli - Grungeon
We all fu***ng loved this bloke. Everyone's best friend. Outstanding thrash metal guitarist & songwriter. See you in the big house mate. RIP.
Somehow those mad indie labels in the late 90s made me Secretary of the Association of Independent Record labels (now a totally screwed up major label loving association).
We screwed about 50 bucks out of the government and went and got pi**ed in Germany at the Popkomm music industry trade fair.
In this picture is Sebastian Chase (total legend of the indie scene), Ed Jonker (founder of AIR rip loved him to bits, some bloke from WA who funded his label through hydro and great bloke Alan Creed).
The most awesome thing I remember is that the entire industry had become straight as f # . They were all up late doing business, then meeting other trendies at 6am the next day.
In total opposition the metal scene didn't arrive till after midday and went straight to the bar. Even the punks had become total corporate sell outs. Only the bangers were real.
I partied hard with louts and loutesses from Spinefarm, House of Kicks, Cacophonous and more. Nuclear Blast and Necropolis label reps were trendies too, sorry to say.
Rok & Bad Sins getting totalled, VB and Fosters!
Bad Sins jacks off the incapacitated Rev while Jules laughs....
Alright F # # , here's a gift...
MANTICORE, live at Warfest.
Looking through the photos on this page, that's the wildest most fu***ng authentic metal scene ever in Australia.
Everyone wearing local band shirts, no one caught up in the worship of overseas s**te.
Us, and that's all there is to it.
F**k all the trendy s**t.
Warhead Records was the real thing.
Here's a pic of me screaming for Detriment back in the 90s, just because I rock like f**k
Jules at The Hammer House
Another one from the Rock n Roll Wearhouse
Wayne Campbell & Brad Sims
We worked together at the Rock n Roll Wearhouse in Sydney. This was sometime around 1990 I think... too many good times back then to remember!
