Something in a different style from my Artist friend, Shirley Bennetts.

Shirley lived alone (after Alan died) on her property in the Hunter Valley of NSW, Australia. She loved the Australian bush and felt it's spirit.

Her paintings often portrayed spirits in a bush setting. Musical instruments were usually included. (She painted while listening to classical music.) Clowns also turned up, regularly. 😉

As an Industry Trainer (for almost 20 years), I met many people with different minds that required different training approaches/methods.

My GrandDaughter (on the Autism 'map') is a quite proficient player of music - on a qwerty keyboard attached to Roblox. 🤔 One afternoon, she excitedly decided that she should be able to translate that ability to ordinary music ability. 😊

The photo shows her brain's approach to translating her qwerty knowledge to my very old Yamaha music keyboard. 👍🕺

Having a day out with my Son and Daughter-I-L, dipping a line in the water.

Many years ago, my GrandSon and I defined this exercise as 'ing'.
It is like 'Fishing' but without the complication of Fish. 🤪

Shirley Bennetts was my friend, my Art Teacher, and my Co-conspirator.

She was a dedicated Artist. Art consumed her time. She was passionate about Art. And... she was passionate about training the new generations of Artists.

Shirley trained under Rex Russom (an early Head Teacher of the Newcastle Art School) and attended the Julian Ashton Art School. She practiced her art and taught for most of her adult life, in the Hunter Valley, NSW, Australia.

I think most Artists (or Creatives of any kind) often wonder just what makes up that elusive ‘thing’ that propels one Artist to fame, leaving others of equal skill to watch in wonder. (I’m not referring to me, here. I’m erratic. I write. I paint. I act. I make things with my hands in wood and metal... If you want to excel in something, then you probably need to do it more than I do.) However, I do look at the work of well-known Artists and wonder why Shirley Bennetts is not of equivalent standing and why her name is not an oft-spoken name in the world of Art.

I have some examples of her work, that I will share over time.
I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy having them on my walls.

My mate, Pat Savage, has released his new album and I've just saved it to my Spotify Play List. ☺

A branch of the family were very ill, from Christmas Eve (😞), so a large part of our Christmas get-together celebrations hasn't happened yet.

The elves refuse to leave while there are still presents under the tree. 🤣🤣🤣

And so it is (almost) Christmas... and we're still waiting for that elusive World Peace that we all crave so badly. 😞
