It’s almost that time of year again… talking strategy for our upcoming Football & Volleyball broadcasts! 🏈🏐🐏

Day 1 of Film + News Camp is in the books!! We had so much fun learning the basics of film, broadcasting and equipment. Groups began storyboarding and scripting their ideas. Tomorrow we move on to acting, directing and filming! This group is already so creative! We can’t wait to watch their ideas come to life. 🎬🎥

✨At our morning news camp session (8:30-11:30 a.m.) you will learn to write, shoot, anchor and edit your very own newscast.

✨Both sessions are perfect for all aspiring directors, producers, and media enthusiasts of all skill levels.

Today 20 seniors walked across the stage as Broadcasting CTE completers! This means they took at least 3 years of A/V Tech and Film. It’s safe to say the class of 2024 definitely left a mark on LakesideTV. 🎥🎬💙

I’m going to miss y’all but I am so excited for all of the amazing things that lie ahead for each of you!!

Girls will start at 5, followed by the senior night celebration, then the boys will begin around 7 p.m.

To finish off an awesome two days in the capital city we toured with anchor Rolly Hoyt. It was an honor to get a behind the scenes look at how the big leagues do it! Thank you, Mr. Hoyt, for taking the time to show us around and for inspiring these young storytellers!

Convention 2024 is in the books!! We had a blast learning, creating, and networking with other media programs across the state. The awards are just the icing on the cake to celebrate these hardworking student journalists!

Film Camp is BACK for summer 2024!! Registration is now open to all incoming 3rd-7th graders.

WHEN: June 17-20, 2024
WHERE: LHS Broadcasting Room

News Session (8:30 - 11:30 a.m.) will focus on producing a full newscast using the studio and student produced news segments.
Film Session (1 - 4 p.m.) will focus on producing a short film or music video based off camper’s ideas and preferences.

Each session is $85 or you can sign up for both for $170.

Limited to 20 students for each camp. Camp will be staffed with High School Broadcasting Students. 1 Staffer for every 4 Campers.

This is Parker Hudnell, a senior in our LakesideTV program and a 3rd Year Student apart of the Live Events class.

Parker has commentated football and basketball for the last three years and serves as a positive light in the classroom, along with this he is also apart of the men’s varsity soccer team.
