Good Morning CBC Community! We had a great meeting this morning at the Harding Center.

Rich Herb set the stage with a tip on solving complex problems. He said it all comes down to 2 things.
1. Agree on definitions (define the problem)
2. Set a goal (without a goal or end you cannot solve the problem)

Dianne Krumnow with Living Well Resources gave us some tips on what to look for on packaging of skin creams and other health and beauty items to verify they are not contributing to skin cancer. It is Skin Cancer Awareness month, look for the Skin Cancer Foundation labels on your products!

Pat Case with Great Impressions is busy helping people with their kitchen remodels. Are you planning a kitchen for your forever home or your starter home? She can help you find products that work in every budget.

Rich Herb with North Central Ohio Action Business Coaching talked about business tips and how many times it just takes a fresh set of eyes and new perspective to help business owners move to the next level and achieve goals.

Carolyn Asher with American Family Insurance talked about the rise in glass claims. She said she has seen an increase in glass claims over the last few months. Insurance is no fun to talk about, but it sure is great for peace of mind when a rock hits the window.

Brian Blair with the Marion County Board of Elections talked about the May Primary/Special Election and the upcoming August Special Election. He discussed the cost of elections and how taxing authorities pay for ballot questions and issues, the need for poll workers (Independents, Democrats, and Republicans). Ohio has a great history and practice of bipartisan elections, it takes Democrats and Republicans in order to hold fair elections.

Have a great week!

Thank you so much to Dianne Krumnow with Living Well Resources for your presentation today at our CBC Meeting! It was great to learn about the amazing benefits of the vitamins and the skincare products that you use personally!! It is always awesome to see someone that believes in their products and uses them themselves. The household products you spoke of seem very convenient and you stated they work well in your home! The need to shop local has never been more needed with the price of transportation. Being able to order online and not leave the house is always great!

-Actions
-Mindset + Actions = Results
-Thinking + Doing = Results
He had us draw an iceberg, only 25% of the iceberg was above water. These are the Actions and Behavior portions of our lives. The 75% of the iceberg that was below the water line are your Skills, Beliefs, Values, Identity, Environment.

Dan Price with A1 Printing talked about the supply chain issues for printing companies, however A1 has taken some precautions and will be able to fulfill your printing needs! Marion has only 62 voters that will be removed due to no activity over the last 4 years. This is a very low number considering Marion has over 39,000 registered voters. Huge shout out to Community Business Connections for their kind hearts. They helped 15 people have a brighter holiday season by supplying Thanksgiving meals and presents for the holidays! The season may be over, but our gratefulness for our community never ends.

14/12/2021

It was great to see everyone on Wednesday last week. We started off with our mission statement. It is our mission to assist fellow business members of Community Business Connections (CBC) to grow their businesses by referring individuals and businesses to one another. We believe in our community. It is our desire to be of service to local charities while promoting our members' businesses.

Rich Herb filled us in on a new business that he read about in an article. It is a Cat Cafe called Catfinated in Tacoma, Washington. Customers pay a monthly fee of $15 for 1 hour sessions with the cats in the cat lounge and it includes a 12oz coffee. Great for cat lovers that can't have a cat of their own.

Pat with Great Impressions went to Washington, OH to meet with a client and left with a total of 3 clients! That speaks volumes about her business!!

Dianne with Living Well Resources has been using a new Artisan skincare system for daily use. She has products for Very Dry, Dry, and Oily Skin options.

Carolyn with American Family Insurance is discussing options for a virtual assistant later today. She is not sure about it as she prefers her personal interactions with her clients.

Brian with the Board of Elections discussed the public audit of the 2021 General Election. The Board audited 3 races and all 3 races were 100% accurate.

Keith with Generations Realty discussed the rising cost of homes and the market being very high for buyers. Appraisals are also coming in very high. It is more of a sellers’ market currently.

Rich Herb with North Central Ohio Business Coaching was our feature presenter this week. He discussed how at the end of the year it is important to assess the goals that had been set for 2021 and to create goals for 2022.
There are 2 types of people, those that hate goals and those that love goals. The purpose of goals is to keep focus, not necessarily to hit every goal, but to aim for it to see how far you can get. How will the goal help push business forward?
Start with a big picture
Set steps to achieve goals: Use the acronym SMART.
Specific goals, Measurable goals, Achievable goals, Results, Timestamp (Deadline to goal)
Commit to smaller goals to reach larger goals.
Retain Employees – Create professional development opportunities, employees are more likely to stay if they feel valued and that they are developing professionally.

Rich is a business coach. He helps business owners figure things out. If you are interested please reach out to him via email at [email protected] or via phone at 419-569-5669
