My latest newsletter talked a bit about "Somatic" and what it means and doesn't mean. I am excited to share with you some somatic practices during the retreat I am co-hosting with my friend and colleague, Jaimie. Message to secure your spot today!

From the newsletter:
"Soma means of the body. Somatic Therapy is a treatment that recognizes that the body holds and expresses emotions, traumatic events, and unresolved emotional issues. The goal of Somatic Therapies is to help drain these emotions of their power, relieving pain and stress/trauma related issues. A somatic therapist cultivates an awareness of bodily sensations and helps to teach people to feel safe in their bodies while exploring thoughts, emotions and memories. This is done, typically, in one-on-one sessions, where you can build and develop trust and find the somatic therapy tools that work best for you as an individual. "

Okay All. I am in the planning stages of the 2025 retreat for Radiant Spirit. The Location will be Indonesia- but I am struggling between 2 options and would love to hear from you!

Option one: A private island. A bit more trouble to get to but, once there, a truly unplugged and immersive experience. Lot's of time for exploring, swimming, snorkeling, hiking, turtles and surfing if you'd want. This in addition to the yoga and meditation and workshops.

Option two: An eco-resort in Ubud. Ubud is the Bali yoga dream town. And, because it is a tourist mecca, a bit more easy to get to. We would be in our own space but close to town. That allows for exploration of local attractions, dinners out and more "action", if you will. This in addition to our regular yoga and meditation practices.

So, if you could join me, which option appeals to you more?

Why skipping your dog’s walk is a bigger deal than you think 20/02/2024

Really good (and motivating) read.

I'm off to walk ronin lad.

Why skipping your dog’s walk is a bigger deal than you think Walks are about more than exercise — for dogs, only hanging out in a backyard is like reading the same book again and again.

Perspective | A toast to Pop-Tarts, the childhood treat I couldn’t resist 19/02/2024

An ode to the perfect childhood food.... even though I know these are absolutely 💯 % wrong in every level I still love them and count them as one of my comfort foods. I'm a frosted blueberry or cherry gal, what about you?

Perspective | A toast to Pop-Tarts, the childhood treat I couldn’t resist The death of Pop-Tarts inventor Bill Post resurrects warm, fresh-from-the-toaster memories.

Who am I?

Namaste. My name is Pamela Ronstadt. I am a wife (to my beast, as I playfully refer to my love), a mother of two incredible grown men and a grandmother (grams) to a couple of amazing and joyful beings. I am also a yoga teacher, student, lover of history and philosophy and would consider myself to be a practicing yogini, striving to walk the 8-limbed path. For over a decade, I have been teaching in studios and privately as well as leading trainings and retreats to various locales on this amazing plant. I am an E-RYT 500, YACEP (Continuing Education Provider) and TIYT (Trauma Informed Yoga Teacher) and have logged over 12,000 hours of teaching. I offer 200- and 300-hour level yoga alliance accredited certifications through the Radiant Spirit School of Yoga as well as serving on faculty around the globe. I specialize in helping yoga teachers with continuing education and exploring yoga in it’s depth and diversity. I often travel to bring trainings around the globe as well as bringing those trainings to you, in your own space.

When I was 33 years old, my body was diagnosed with Young Onset Parkinson’s and for years I watched as the disease took over my body and spirit. An off remark from my then neurologist about a recent study on how yoga was found to be helpful for those struggling with YOPD led me onto my path just after my 40th birthday. Within a short amount of time, my body began to respond, and I was able, within just a couple of years, to use the practice-along with other lifestyle choices, to manage the disease without the need for traditional western medicine. The miraculous nature of the practice called me to my first teacher training in 2009 and that desire to serve others and introduce people to the practice and it’s holistic nature has kept me teaching and learning ever since.

A forever student and lover of this remarkable practice we call yoga means that you will often find me with my nose buried in a text or struggling to translate a sutra from Sanskrit into English. My classes and trainings are a reflection, in many ways, of my life. Yoga is, for me, not only a practice on the mat but off the mat as well. I love to teach and practice a variety of asana styles, including flow, hatha, yin and gentle. My approach to the practice is one of compassion, love, curiosity, humor and reflection.

I like to believe that I am a spiritual being having an abundantly human life. My hope and goal is to help you discover your own spirit and abundance that already exists within.
