This is a topic that needs to be addressed. It needs to be spoken about so all the women and men who are suffering can gain the needed and desired support.
It is hard to know what to say or do for someone who is currently experiencing and loss or has previously experienced a loss. There is never a perfect thing to say but there are so many things not to say. So keep it easy and simply be present! Let the person know you are thinking of them and you are there when they are ready. Checking in is a quick and easy way to show you care and it allows the person to open up when they feel it is right for them. Simple gestures can go a long way in helping someone heal!
I am part of this statistic and I am forever grateful for the individuals that would check in on me daily and just be present!
As we each rise from the various lows we may experience during the day, week, or month it is important to put effort and time into ourselves. No matter how small or great these lows may be the way to rise from them is personal growth and to achieve this growth we need to put energy into ourselves. It has been a huge whirlwind here the last few weeks. The biggest change and move forward was we moved. We didn't just move to a new house, we are in a new neighbourhood, a new town and most importantly a new chapter of our book. This new chapter started on a high which followed by a few lows but that is just how life works sometimes. The universe only gives us what we can handle to teach us lessons and prepare us for the future. We have risen from these challenges stronger and ready to take on what is next and grow to new heights!
I think we all have at least one moment in our day that we feel stressed or hear a loved one say they are stressed. Being stressed alters our hormone levels and can cause harmful affects to our body and ultimately our health.

I have found meditation to be of great value to my well-being and a practice I have incorporated into my daily routine. I encourage you to try adding it to your daily routine. You can start small with 5 minutes and work your way up. You can sit or lay down. You can play calming music or have complete silence. Concentrate on your breathing, in and out, and let your mind clear.

As the hours and days rush by time needs to be set aside to treat yourself right. We each need and deserve to give time and energy to ourselves to become centred and focused. If we don't slow ourselves down we can loose focus and the care we give to our family, friends, clients etc will become scattered and unpredictable.
To be fully present in life we need to slow down and enjoy it!
My challenge to everyone is to give yourself 10 minutes to reconnect and re-energize by way of reflection, meditation, yoga or any other means that allows you to relax.
An important part of relaxation and supporting yourself is to start with a calm foundation where you give yourself time to heal. To heal from the daily work, family, personal, environmental stressors, sickness etc.
A great way to heal and find your calm foundation is through meditation. By using meditation we can learn to keep our mind calm and peaceful so we can experience the ultimate happiness and freedom. Below is a guided meditation that I have found very helpful. Take 15 minutes for yourself and do this! You will feel wonderful after and then go ahead and make it a daily habit. You will notice you are calmer in stressful situations and happiness will come easier.

Welcome fellow wellness seekers! I thought I would introduce myself and my goal for this page.I am a wife, mother, nurse, sister, daughter, and friend to name a few titles I hold in no specific order.
When I was a nurse working shift work in the hospital I slowly found myself run down and not enjoying daily life like I should. I was having dreams about patients and would take their pain home with me. I was stressed, over worked, and no longer enjoying my job. I also noticed I would run around doing things for others without thinking of what I may need. My health and enjoyment were suffering and I deserved more. Things needed to change! I needed to give myself space and energy to allow change!
I believe it is extremely common of health care workers to put everyone (patients, clients, friends family etc) ahead of themselves. This is also notorious of mothers!
I have since changed jobs and have found a rewarding avenue that allows me to work with individuals so they as well can achieve health and freedom. Talking to people, hearing their struggles and helping them discover the solution to achieving their health and wellness goals is what I loved about nursing. I am overjoyed that I can bring this passion to life and assist others to reaching their full potential. This has allowed me to give myself the needed time and energy to be healthy while continuing to enjoy every moment being a mom and wife!
