⚫ THE DARK ROOM ⚫ A place we slip into and struggle to find the way out of.⁠

This is my analogy for a state of being I’m too familiar with. The feeling of experiencing life as if you were in a pitch black room with no windows, no light points, nothing… just the awareness of your crippling anxiety growing within your chest and the sound of your own breathing. ⁠

Taking a few steps forward, and sideways, and backwards… and everything is still all black, nothing changes. Calling out for answers, reaching your arms forward in the hope you’d touch the edge of a wall, the edge of something that could get you out of there… and still nothing. ⁠

When we’re in the dark room, it’s easy to feel hopeless, lost, tired and on the verge of despair. It’s easy to look outside of us for things that will make us feel better and pray that tomorrow we’ll wake up and the lights will be on. ⁠

But what I’ve learnt is that until we decide to search within ourselves, we will continue to stay stuck. It’s only when we’re willing to face our emotions, thoughts and beliefs and still be ok with feeling uncomfortable that we’ll begin to make progress. ⁠

When you turn on the light within you, you illuminate what’s outside of you. You begin to see the next steps in front of you. ⁠

⚫ ⚪ YOU are the switch. YOU are the light. Honour the power within you.⁠

Are you living on autopilot or with purpose and intention?⁠

Did you know that 95% of your thoughts are unconscious? Meaning 95% of your thoughts are repetitive, learnt patterns embedded in your subconscious, prompted automatically, that make you live in a cycle of rinse and repeat.⁠

A lot of my work is focused on hacking the autopilot so I can live life in alignment with the person I want to be. Hypnotherapy has been my most valuable and non-negotiable tool in this journey of self-discovery and self-mastery. It’s the one thing I will likely continue investing in for the rest of my life – and that can sometimes mean working with other Hypnotherapists 1:1 when I need deeper work I can’t do in self-hypnosis. ⁠

Working with your subconscious is like housekeeping. If you want a clean and tidy house where you feel comfortable, supported and inspired in, you’ll have to do a little bit of daily work to keep it that way (and sometimes a big clean).⁠

The more I dive deeper into the depths of my consciousness, the more I love and enjoy the journey. ⁠

My journey has also been elevated tremendously through ceremonial cacao. I sit with cacao every week, some weeks every day. This medicine has taught me how to soften, how to be vulnerable and open my heart while standing in my power. It has helped me unlock so many parts of me and integrate them across different levels. To know myself more, to love myself more.⁠

With the Spring equinox around the corner and the start of the astrological new year, there’s a new sense of possibility in the air. It’s time to reconnect with our inner self and ask the right questions. ⁠

Who do you want to become? Are you looking outside yourself for answers? Dive deeper within and awake your inner wisdom. ⁠

Let’s talk about Hypnotherapy.⁠

Occasionally, I still get a side look when I say this is what I do. More often than not I get asked the question “are you gonna turn me into a chicken?” 👀⁠

Throughout history, pop culture gave hypnosis a bad rep where in plays, books and movies, we were told stories of mind control, paralysis and total blackout… However, this couldn’t be further from the truth. ⁠

The only person that can control your mind is you.⁠

Hypnotherapy can be used for many, many things like habit change, creating new behaviours that are more aligned with our goals and the person we want to become, conquering fears and phobias, increasing confidence, creating resources that help us regulate our nervous system so we’re better able to cope in challenging situations, busting limiting beliefs and empowering ourselves. ⁠

It can also be used to connect with a higher state of consciousness to gain insight.⁠

For some people, sky-diving is the most exhilarating thing in the world, for others, it’s a death wish. ⁠

Fear and excitement create the same response in the body – your heart is beating fast, you might notice a change in your breathing… you might even feel a little dizzy. But the difference between one emotion and the other is how you perceive the situation you’re experiencing. ⁠

Consider this next time you feel anxious about taking a bold step towards your goals: instead of saying “I’m scared that ______”, try reframing it to “I’m so excited that _____”. Feel the emotion, allow it to come up, and see how you can change the meaning of it. Is it fear, or is it excitement? The answer might be just as easy as changing your perspective. ⁠

One of the most challenging and draining things you can do for yourself is to rely on your willpower alone to change a habit or a belief – whatever it may be.

The amount of energy you have to use to stay focused, in control and “stick to the plan” can be tremendous, and that can increase your level of anxiety and make you feel tired and overwhelmed, reinforcing the idea that the task at hand is hard and exhausting.

You’re setting yourself to failure.

Because what happens is you’re then stuck in a pattern loop where you keep trying harder and not succeeding, or you simply give up and settle to staying in the exact same place.

But what if I told you there’s an easier way?

When you allow your body and your conscious mind to relax deeply, you can have direct access to your subconscious – who is truly the one running the show. And in this deep state of relaxation, you can release trauma, change old and outdated beliefs and program positive suggestions that will allow you to see and experience things differently.

👉🏼 What once felt like a drag, can now feel easy and effortless
👉🏼 Lack of motivation can turn into focus and determination
👉🏼 Turning up your confidence can mean showing up for yourself unapologetically
👉🏼 Recognising your self worth can help you pivot
👉🏼 The idea that you can’t do something can be replaced with the certainty that you can

This is the work you can do in hypnosis, so when you’re busy living your life you can rely less on your willpower alone because your subconscious is supporting you in taking action toward the things that are important to you in a way that feels easy and automatic. You don’t have to try hard, you don’t even have to think about it.

💭 Feeling stuck? If you could do with a bit of clarity to figure out what to do about a situation, a job, a relationship... I have a few questions I always go back to when I’m in a rut, and they might just help you too.⁠

As much as I love surrendering to the guidance of the Universe, my logical brain also needs some reassurance. Journaling can be a great way to connect with your heart’s desires and, at the same time, understand in tangible ways how to make them happen.⁠

Our first instinct when we’re feeling crap is normally to do anything to make that feeling go away – think happy thoughts, they say.⁠

But our feelings and emotions are ENERGY that needs to be released. And when we’re avoiding the emotion and doing anything to distract us from feeling it, we’re actually pushing it down, burying it in the body. And if the energy can’t be released, it starts to build up. ⁠

So rather than shifting your attention and trying to change the feeling or forget about it, FOCUS on it. The trick here is to NOT THINK about it, but to focus on the sensations in your body, breathing through them and letting them dissipate. ⁠

Allowing the uncomfortable feeling to come up to then be released, instead of trapping it inside you and walking around with extra luggage.⁠

Try this:⁠
✨ Close your eyes⁠
✨ Shift your awareness to where in your body you are holding that feeling (anxiety, worry, guilt…)⁠
✨ Allow any thoughts that come up around it to fade away, and instead just focus on the SENSATIONS it’s creating in your body. Is it tingly, is it heavy, is it warm…⁠
✨ Take deep breaths here and surrender to that feeling. Similar to when you’re floating in the ocean, being held by the water, letting it carry the weight of your body. Surrender to it.⁠
✨ You might notice that, very quickly, that feeling will start to become lighter. Just keep taking deep breaths⁠
✨ When the feeling is lighter or completely gone, open your eyes⁠

The world is a crazy place at the moment, and it’s more important than ever to take care of your mental health. So ask yourself – how are you feeling today?⁠

Hypnosis is a natural state of focused attention. In this deep state of relaxation, you can quieten the conscious mind and achieve a higher state of consciousness. ⁠

You can work with it in two ways:⁠
☝🏼 1. Access your SUBCONSCIOUS mind – this is where you can break old patterns, ditch the limiting beliefs and reprogram your mind for better and more positive outlooks. Think of it as a software upgrade to your computer (aka your mind). ⁠

✌🏼 2. Access your SUPERCONSCIOUS mind – this is your ethereal mind, your true essence. This is the part of you that knows all, beyond matter. The part of you that IS all. ⁠

This is where you can:⁠
〰️ Remember past lives⁠
〰️ Do timeline work ⁠
〰️ Realign and raise your frequency⁠
〰️ Receive new codes and insights directly from higher self or spirit guides⁠
〰️ Journey into the future (possible timelines)⁠
〰️ Anchor in desired states of being ⁠

…The potentials are endless ✨ ⁠

When you practice self-hypnosis, you train your brain to go into this elevated state quickly and easily. And sometimes even 10 minutes of self-hypnosis can have a more powerful effect than 40 minutes of meditation if you’re wanting to manifest your dreams into reality. This is because: ⁠

✨ You achieve a higher state of consciousness quicker⁠
✨ You have direct access to your subconscious and superconscious mind, which means your words of affirmation and autosuggestion are 100 times more effective. ⁠
✨ You are better able to experience the feeling and the frequency of already having that which you desire, which boosts your manifestation exponentially. ⁠

The only side effects you’ll experience from practising self-hypnosis are: deep relaxation, feeling grounded, feeling more present and in alignment, being in a happier mood in general 🙃⁠
